That was exactly the feel it gave me listening today................the intent was to show tons and tons of remorse but I found it unconvincing somehow.
I hope for his sake he isn't really that fragile and is "telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth" otherwise Nel will destroy him!.....Nel makes Roux 's seem like a teddy bear....he is really sharp and tough!.
I would hate to be cross examined by Nel if I had not been completely honest!

FOUND ON MY FB JUST NOW

This is not something we want to hear but something you need to know! Safety like locking doors and not leaving big windows open and having your dogs (no matter how big they are) sleep INSIDE your house to surprise these scum, is a must. Sorry if it offend the sensitive ones amongst us.....
URGENT CALL FOR RESOURCES : During the course of last night, 4 b/m 2 of whom were armed broke into entered a home inside a security complex in Northmead, Benoni. They tied the family and proceeded to repeatedly gang rape the wife in front of her husband and children. They robbed them of mobile fones and other items and left. I cannot begin to tell u the anger that I feel as I'm certain u do too. With this in mind, I call upon u to come forward and offer ur assistance in whichever way to catch these bastards!!!

I REST MY CASE

All I can say is if anyone was thinking of taking a holiday in SA and watched what he said about SA,they would think twice.
He has painted a picture of a lawless country.

This is such a sad story, so let us wait for 'justice' to prevail. Ek voel baie jammer vir almal betrokke in hierdie tragiese storie.

which it can be to be honest but not having had the pleasure of living outside of it (and having been a victim of violent crime before) I and most other South Africans are used to it I suppose which is a real tragedy

Is the trial still on?? Thought there'd be a verdict by now...guess I'll have to wait a few more months...

Have been reading the posts...yes, we have been (mugged at gunpoint twice, held at gunpoint at robot once, house broken into whilst on holiday in Egypt, etc) or know some-one close (parents home broken into, etc) who has been a victim of violent crime in SA...we take precautions as best we can and hope that no harm comes to those nearest and dearest to us...we wish no ill upon anyone but such is the desperation prevalent that crime is a easy option as there are few if any consequences...

If affected and fearful of crime, I would lock everything up at night and triple check (which I do with a wife and 6 year old at home with me) and not get up in the middle of the night to go outside to bring in one or was it two fans...and the dogs didn't bark at any noises heard or foreign smells from an intruder...

Just throw away the key...ego and arrogance leading to lies to save himself...

well James I am entitled to my opinion and he to me does not seem genuinely remorseful as its taken him like over a year to even apologise to the family anyway that's his problem. I just cant stand the fact that he goes on and on about loving God etc when he is in the dock for murder and he cant tell the whole truth. How can he profess to know God and then stick to the story of an imaginery intruder who is he kidding. Hence my opinion which I am entitled to as I said before.

James, I beg you to read my opening line again. Have not followed court today, so I have just commented on what I saw on this thread. Will catch up later and let you know what I think. Had I said this after seeing and hearing evidence, you could attack me, but had you read what I said, I think you would not have been so quick on the draw (excuse the use of this phrase)

Let me repeat that I have not seen any of the footage of court today. What follows is just my opinion

Rob, I have cross examined many people in my lifetime. And I have seen many of my own clients being cross examined. Let me tell you now, it is no joke testifying under oath. Even the slightest hesitation or insecurity will open the door for a clever lawyer to destroy your evidence.

Mr Nel is good. Believe me, he would not have been given this job if he was just another state emplyee in the justice department.

I thought it was a little odd that he said he would give his life to the Lord if He saved her (Reeva) from dieing. The Lord does not negotiate He just concedes...
