As people we all use our senses when executing various actions. This however depends on specific circumstances that one is faced with. Sense of smell, touch, hearing, sight.
Now if a person blindly discharged 4 shots and manages to hit the target with 3 out of 4 shots, which is 75% accuracy. Which sense was he using, it can't be sight, touch, maybe smell but the distance could disqualify that too. So we are left with sound, yes sense of hearing, that's exactly what he followed.
The point is that for him to be as deadly accurate as he was, means that the poor woman was either crying, talking (begging for mercy), screaming, shouting or a combination of all this sound. Making it easy for him to target the right spot inside the toilet.
And yes I believe the man is extremely sorry for what he did, and yes I believe that the same mistake could befall most of us gun or not. But he must be severely punished for losing his temper like he did, this is totally inexcusable. He as guilty as charged

While i was listening to his evidence the following cross my mind
he said that before he fell asleep he asked RS to bring in the fans and close the door as she was still awake.
it seems that she forgot, because when he woke up the door was still open
can it b,e taken his quick temper and his fear of being attacked, as was shown with previous evidence that he came down on her for not closing the door and they landed up arguing about it and he totally lost it and he shot her in a bout of rage?
not a fact just a thought

James Blond wrt ur posts. I agree we NOW all live in a lawless society in RSA. I presume that 90% of us have been subjected personally to or know of loved ones/friends that were subjected to some form of serious crime. That is why I in my humble abode I installed extra strength SECUIRITY bars on my windows and gates on my doors. FFS Oscar with all his money and who is so SCARED of his secuirity does sweet f--- all to make his house safer but instead ARMs himself to the hilt, with attack dogs as well.
From when Ms Reeva Steenkamp was shot by OP he has not the Steenkamps in any way and Mrs Steenkamp stated this her disillusionment in this respect to a Jounalist. Then all of a sudden on National TV and in front of International Journalists and over a year later OP tenders his apologies to the Steenkamps. IMVHO what a fcuking farce and insult to the Steenskamps, and the Judge and Mr Nel allow this just boggles my mind.
Watching OP's emotional outbursts yesterday and today IMVHO deserves an OSCAR in itself. IMVHO his Legal reps are attempting to emotionally influence the Judge. This may very well succeed to a certain degree as I see the Judge as a very compassionate person.
BTW my opinion so far is that OP is as guilty as hell notwithstanding that at times I really FEEL for Oscar.
The best chirp I have heard from an EXPERT's opinion is that under cross examination Gerrie Nel will even make Chuck Norris cry like a GIRL.

Listening to the case last night and OP on the stand, I think the defence may be in trouble. OP testified that when he woke up, RS was still awake and they exchanged words, he then got up to bring in the fans and close the curtains, put a pair of jeans over LCD light on the amplifier (was this in his original statement) etc, he then heard a noise in the bathroom, came back to get his gun, screamed at RS to lie on floor, phone police, in this time, without him knowing, she had got up, passed him in the dark and gone to the toilet (the bedroom must be huge if he did not see or notice, during this time, that she had got up to go to the toilet) at no time with all his screaming and shouting did she ever answer him, strange. He then entered the bathroom on his stumps, not knowing if and how many assailants there might be around the corner of the bathroom and continued to round the corner, in the dark, according to his testimony. If you were truley going to defend your loved ones, you would know where they are, in his case all he had to do was cover the entrance to the bathroom. The defence story of events is really weak and if Nel is any type of prosecuter, he should be able to make his case.
