.....want to hear something from the far side......my roughie for the race is Glorious Jet......why....because he has the best draw of 20.....
for his style of running......there is nothing better than a horse that cannot jump on terms....to draw wide....the panel dont give him a shout and recon that tail runners can only win from a strong pace.....but if they go at an average clip he will be in touch turning for home and pick off the range bound sorts ....that's if he dont run into them when they start falling back....:

Remember Dance with the Devil, St John Gray's horse with Gavin Lerena, won with a burst from stone stone last in 2011, backed him that day at 20/1.

One interesting that I picked up, is that only 2 of the runners have ever won over 2000 - those being Wyllie Hall and Wagner - not that I fancy them, but as Muhti suggests, it looks like there are a couple of 'range bound sorts' who may be gasping for air come the last 200 - depending on the pace of course.
So yes expect the unexpected - which means that the favorite will probably win

This is my worst memory.....I backed DWTD on her debut and told many she would be a top horse.....went to the course that day and got talked right out of her.....she cost me the P6.....

One of Australia's most prolific sires. Mossman has sired 25 individual Stakes Winners including 4 individual Group winners during the week long Flemington Carnival.
A son of Success Express, Mossman is the sire of a phenomenal 69% winners to runners and despite only averaging 55 foals a year has managed to produce 25 Stakes winners (49 Stakes horses) including dual Group One winner Buffering, Ofcoursican, Love Conquers All and recent Group winners Dothraki, Plucky Belle and Royal Zulu Warrior in South Africa.

The pace is bound to be sedate as both Striker and Superman are going to be saving their mounts bringing in all other range bound sorts in with a chance.....I'm hoping for plenty give in the ground to make it a true test of stamina no matter how slow they go....
