Agent Required
12 years 10 months ago
Since the passing of my agent + friend Hadley Augustus, I have struggled to find someone willing + able to fill the position of booking my rides
2 interested parties have not been able to fill the void due to demanding work + family commitments.
If there is anyone that is qualified/licensed and experienced that would be interested in booking my rides for Kzn + other provinces excl PE, pls PM me for my contact details.
A successful season would be:
600 rides
40 wins
120 places
Rides at every track in the country + GR1 races
I offer 10% of nett earnings for rides + places and 15% for wins.
Extra 5% bonus will be offered for features + monthly targets met. Deposits will be made by the 30th of every month.
I am currently on the books of ProSport International, under the guidance of former champion Mark Khan, and their Horseracing division in Sport Management.
No chancers or freeriders
Thanks

ProSport do not book rides + I am in limbo at the month.
They are sport managers and look after the careers + lives of most of SAs top sports starts.
ProSport source sponsorships, do contract negotiations, business + private banking, tax issues etc.

But they know nothing about being a sportsman and what can be claimed for...
Some jocks are only paying 20% tax and others have received returns on taxes already paid.
We also receive monthly samples of latest health foods + drinks + discounts at various Sport stores

Pro sport is a well run operation and the only one of its kind in South Africa. No other sports marketing / managerial company comes close. I have worked closely with quite a few of the people that are involved there and have clients that are managed by prosport. Chippy, you cant go wrong there.
But you are misinformed on their tax issues. THey only paying 20% becasue either they only fall into that bracket of earnings or they have organised a tax directive prior to the paye (monthly tax) being deducted. Come the end of the year they will be assessed on their earning s and taxed in the appropraite brackets.
As far as deductions go, if you are a commission earner (which jockeys are) you can claim any expenditure provided you can prove it is in the production of income. Most decent accountants will know how to structure or what to look for in any variation of commission earners.
As far as getting away with a tax return for R450, well then i suppose you will get the knowledge of the person charging that price.

If they are indeed one of a kind in SA then I guess it goes without saying no other company comes close
Give everything but up!

@ Richie
I know all that, didn't want to go into all details.
Some jocks havnt had the best tax advice before and were only allowed to claim for 70% of their raceday travel expenses so having the right people do the job makes all the difference. I also don't know anyone paying R450/year for tax advice...
ProSport must know their stuff if Champions like Khan + Delpech aswell as many of the countries other sports stars are on their books. Pity SA jocks are so far behind their international counterparts but ProSport will change all of that soon.
