I've got nothing to hide

Just to set the record straight with regards to the race that has caused such an uproar, I was not even going to respond to the forum but after reading all of the comments I suppose I had no choice because I stand for something today! I believe Cape Town has the best head stipe in the country because he explains his decisions and gives you the right to voice your opinion. He called me in after the race to explain how the race went for me. I told him I stuck my head in the front at the 450m mark and had the horse in a good rhythm. I was trying to avoid hitting him. At the 200m mark I had a little peep over my shoulder because I felt him starting to weaken and saw Richard and Glen in the corner of my eye. From the 100m to the finish I hit him 3 times. I wouldn't of pulled my stick if I didn't think I was in trouble. Never at any stage from the 200m mark did I feel I had the race sewn up. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but the only thing that I find offensive is the statements that were made about my sobriety and my character or lack there of.

Andrew im proud of you overcoming all your setbacks. I can remember you riding Vesta as a young boy and it still sticks in my head to this day. Wishing you a Happy Forever career and life.

o pls what a load of s..t,if you rode the horse out from the 200m mark you would have won the race,to lose by a short head dose not tell me the horse was weakening ,you can tell that to the stips not to me.what are you looking around for do the job you are paid for then look around after the winning post.

To Andrew well done for coming back and stateing your case you sure took some abuse over that ride including some from me. However Titch continued to support you and also gave his opinion to whitch he is entitled to. I also think that people who go back to the past to drag up your history instead of looking how far you have come are somewhat shortsighted. Having said that i can only ask you if you had not had that peek and had hit him one more time and put your head down would you maybe have not won this race. Let me say i do not ride horses and would not know if you could have won but it did not look good to me and thats my opinion. Im not sure who the chief stipe in Cape Town is but i guess that like you once stated on TV you are sure happy that MR Feldman was or is retired . I spent a short time in Natal while he and a few others were there - but thats another story.
