This comes as no surprise really.
when you have incompetent fools in positions of power, as is the norm in SA, the interests of the public will always play second fiddle to the powers that be.
Just look at what's happening at the moment with Zuma vs Gordhan,
Gordhan is tightening the purse strings and clamping down on corruption. Zuma's business with the Guptas is obviously suffocating so Mr President decides to use the highest enforcement agency in SA to trump up superficial charges on Gordhan in an attempt to gain control of the treasury and its billions.

this country is a joke, "conflict of interest" is a foreign concept. The rich get richer and the poor get shat on.

After this incident I can only see SA racing heading in the same direction as SAA,ESKOM,SABC etc.

There is no such thing as punting for a profit now, its either you punt for fun (how fun can it be?) Or dont punt at all. Im leaning towards the latter although I will still enjoy watching my racing.

We should in theory never back a loser again, granted the brown envelopes are gonna cost a bit but hey what the heck

a winner is a winner…..

Yes. The tactic should be that if you have to go around any horse in the anywhere straight and especially the last 300m, measure how many meters it cost you and object if you make up any ground on a placed horse. Using the Nordic Storm ruling as precedent I can see many successful objections coming.

We been complaining about consistency for a long time and using precedents is exactly what brings consistency rather than making shit up every time.

Mini Tycoon

correct, its gonna be a lot of fun and even though the rand/pound has strengthened I'm still prepared to spend a few quid a week fucking stipes around with frivolous objections.

I might even allocate a budget to ABC owners that if they object (for a laugh but just in case) ill fund the objections of they lose their deposit.

Here is an idea, lets find enough owners on here and hopefully we have more than 1 runner per race at a card

If we then ALL object every race

we can delay the end of the meeting by 3 hours or so…..

mmmmmmm

sounds like a plan

Im almost sure that once an objection is lodged they have to follow process. So in theory every objection in a race delays the start of the next race by at least 15 minutes.

2 of us per race and we onto a winning formula. the meeting won't complete
the turnover will be down
jockeys will miss out on rides
and it won't be that expensive

Just a while back I lodged an objection here in Mauritius stating interference at the 1000m, I had to check badly to avoid clipping heels. I lost my posistion and ended up running 2nd to the horse that caused me to check. The objection was dismissed and later I was warned that my objection bordered 'Frivolous' which carried a fine of Rs10,000 (+- R4000).

I think your man can take a leaf out of the Stipes book here!

SA racing is totally screwed up, once we were a proud racing nation, now every one knows whats gone wrong but will not speak out for fear of persecution, this is just one exposed scenario,, the conflict between operator and NHA has contributed to this,,, next we will hear that a company has been formed and all NHA functions will be outsourced to this new company,, wonder who will have fingers in that pie,,, certain individuals are doing as they please because there is no authority set up in place to stop them, anyone in the right position can abuse racing, just knowing the right people gives them protection,, the game has gone downhill, people are too scared to put things right, the RA should be the ones to fight for doing things right to protect all you owners that have spent billions in the love of the sport,,the racing press other than industry controlled entities need to form an association and agree that they will print concerns and expose wrongdoings, Robyn Louw from Sporting post tried and then Larry Wainstein calls for her to be thrown out of racing and nobody puts him in his place, then he gets Rob Scott a job in in TT and main media source already controlled is under his wing, and so the rot goes on, now we as the punters had to get the action going, why?? ,,, where were the Big Bosses/brasses raceday?,, I am not an owner but all i read everywhere is about family business, the RA board must declare all family business interests in racing structures,,, RA board are looking weak and stupid,, ,,,.. they will victimize Formgrids for what i say but so be it, racing must clean itself up so I will speak up
