I opened a telebet account in 1987 and used it for many years. If I recall correctly I stopped using it in 2009 after it took 2 hours to be paid R3000. I had never formally closed my account but this account has been dormant since then. I am not a big punter but easily turned R5000 a month consistently. I have never had a call or email to enquire why my account has not been used. They have my details. I now invest my amount at my local bookie where my custom is appreciated and I am made to feel welcome. I get a quarterly 10% back on open bet turnover and this is always gratefully received. I can say without fear that the service received from the tote is poor when compared to that of my bookies. I will never bet another cent on the tote.

NOBODY is entitled to my money just because according to titch its the right thing to do..maybe we should all only use government owned products like Telkom and sa airways because its the right thing to do....the attitude from the operators STINKS ...TITCH AND BLONDIE get your mates at the operators to sit down with their customers and find out from them what can they do to woo them back instead of bleating about the stakes pot etc...another point the operators are merely facilitators for punters money THEY DONT TAKE ANY RISKS but take off a hefty percentage unlike the bookies whose livelihood depends on it..you would have thought by now that people who have fcuked up for the operators regarding turnover would have been fired but no they still in their same positions...its a big joke to lsu and titch about my dormant account with telebet natal but the person who is responsible for this section should be bulleted on the spot and the same for ota and elvis account...

Then why do you go or watch racing pirates?ask your local bookie to put on the show and support the 1500 families directly and God knows how many indirectly as well as maintaining racecourses and training facilities as well as putting in their own cameras and OB vans at each racecourse which runs into the millions, let them also maintain the tracks and put in poly tracks at 50 bar a track so your local bookie can lay to you using the operators product. The problem is you naysayers never think further than your nose its you guys betting in the open bet that is killing the game.Never mind myself and Tich let's ask Louis Goosen on his take Im sure he'd like to give his 2 cents worth.
Read the comments on Niven 77 when he went racing at Turfontein and had a thoroughly great experience, believe me this wasn't because your local bookie is paying his way this was from the operators who in your minds are the downfall of this business!!!!!!!Well I got news for you and the bookies go and look at yourselves in the mirror and blame yourselves.

its simple raise your game don't just take my money for granted...if there is no racing to bet on punters will find an alternative means and many have ...I bet with Hollywood and interbet tote at the moment and the interbet tote goes automatically through to the tote BUT they give me decent service and an incentive plan....its my and others punters money who pays for the show AND THIS SEEMS TO BE TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ...punters and owners are the 2 segments of the industry who actually put their HANDS IN THEIR POCKETS to pay for everything ...your attitude blondie represents exactly what is wrong in the industry and that is if you don't like it then move on...also I do a lot of my fixed odds betting with betting world owned solely by phum WHY because I get good service ..its simple I don't care who you are raise YOUR GAME and you get my business

Pirates you are entitled to bet with whomever you want all I'm saying is they should be putting in their share, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating let's see what happens and what comes out of the court case in the next few months I'm a betting man and so are you should we have a little wager that the operator wins hands down?

the open bet has been to court already blondie and I don't have to remind you that the bookmakers won hands down...that's the main point of this thread and the courts have ruled already

At the end off the day racing would be finished without the punter, and they should be treated like king by the operators and the bookies

The tote couldn't care less because whatever the result they cannot lose. They take their 25% or whatever it is and that's it.Bookies stand a chance of losing a lot if big bets are placed and they come in.
