Chippy,my youngest son was born premature and I raised money for the unit at the hospital a decade ago.
Why don't you raise funds for where your 2 boys are.
I'm sure a lot of posters would support you and most hospitals need modern equipment.

@dave
The point of Comrades was for the entire industry to get behind CHCU.
The Forum was just 1 very important cog that got people talking.
I had 1 of Mrs.Plattners grooms ask me if I was running again the other day
@Titch, maybe Craig felt he had to protect the awesome prize he won...
CONGRATS CRAIG, sounds like a beautiful trip awaits you!
No doubt a welcome surprise after the last weeks events

Selling the other 8 tickets for the day to my mates for more money for the unit! Most dont need them as experienced sailors. Not that we going to do anything but eat and sip coke/fanta for the day!

Sorry to say it, but there is NO excuse for this. No justification will ever remove the bitter taste that this terrible oversight has left. The Comrades Marathon was run in JUNE - and that is when Chris Taylor should have been thanked, in all forms of media. Not only did he raise money, but he raised AWARENESS about The Coastal Horsecare Unit. He did not just hand over money to them - he went to great lengths (96km long in fact) to raise this money. It is shameful. When sponsors and donors are thanked, the come back and GIVE MORE. This is a basic rule of fundraising, for all charities.
Chris Taylor, you did a wonderful thing in running the Comrades and raising the money you did. So while I have no affiliation with The CHCU, let me just say: Thank You for your very generous gesture and effort.
P.S. Can I sggest that you raise money for the Highveld Horse Care Unit in 2013?

gg, if the owner accepts responsibility for the horse that HE / SHE /THEY purchased then there will be no need for horse care units.... period !! The HCU's are the symptoms ......

Magi - it is not just racehorses in need, that are cared for at the Horsecare Units. There are many other horses too.
