@Mark Sham...I wouldn't condone any criminal activity on behalf of any official...just that this is now the focus rather than why the suspension and withdrawal of horses happened rather suddenly... farcical how it has been handled and likely there will be lesser transparency in the future...sad all around...

.......@Mark Sham.....sorry that precedent has already been set as per the Cyril Naidoo case where he took it to the high court in Pietermaritzburg when his wife's handbag was searched and the "evidence" was found by a male NHRA official.....not condoning the actions of the person that attempted to search and then allegedly assaulted Mrs Peter

.....and yes in RSA law a male police officer may not lay a hand on a female until a female officer can be summoned to conduct such a search.... .however as you should know that the rights to search and seizure are no longer regarded as "common" law as most your rights under those laws are signed away when you fall under the NHRA.....Paul Peter's wife has every right to lay charges of assault of a male "assaulting" a female as this is classic GBV and should follow through to a possible conviction.....and not try and use it as further leverage in retaliation of what happened later on in the day ....:ohmy:

Seen some of the comments on the SP site and some seem think this is a vendetta against a particular trainer even though BI responded otherwise...

The Kentucky Derby Winning Owner is a huge advocate for drug free racing especially in America. He is no fan of Bob Baffert. You can say he is a neutral and have an unbiased view.

All this could be avoided if the bag was searched....

I wasn't disagreeing with BI's response or his stance...the cleaner the industry, the better for all participants...

If you got nothing to hide why not let the official check the bag?
Makes things so much easier if you innocent and can prove it straight away.I'm sure the official has seen some lady things before so no need to get embarrassed about it,it's part of every ladies life.
I agree the official should have been more professional but if you innocent let him search your bag and make him look a fool afterwards.

I Advise all my female staff to not allow a male security staff to search them in anyway. Make sure they have white gloves on before they search u. Its not about guilty or not its about knowing ur rights.

Sure that's perfectly justified but sometimes for others sake you just have to let it happen and bite your tongue.
If she just let them search her bag,no big deal if you have nothing sinister in it,then her son would have maybe won a few races and hundreds of thousands of rands for his patrons.
But now he is banned and his patrons suffer.

My question is what has Tony Peter done wrong? Why has he been suspended?

One more thing,don't you think the evidence might have been in his wife's bag knowing she couldn't be searched?
And Mark are you supporting people's rights or Paul Peter in this instance?
Cause Paul Peter has been found guilty for doping horses and should never have been champion trainer as he should have been banned for life but our NHRA needed money so fined him R650 000.

I support what is right in the game ..We have horses in the Peter stable....

Paul was caught with out of competition testing which had no affect to punters like you..He paid his dues .Just like many owners trainers and Jockeys have in the game ...So please leave them alone see what comes of it ..I will be first in line. To apologize ...
