Apparently the SABC just showed the interview now, but the clip was shortened. Hopefully the full version will be loaded on youtube or twitter.

They also ran the the bush racing footage again. Ridiculous. Surely the SABC has footage from past Durban July’s in their archives

Just to touch on the Alec Hogg post above, as always first class.

Some highlights and “my” interpretation:

Charles Savage is a very capable and respected man and will be an asset to any role he may have in the future shaping of racing.

Well done to Mary Slacks massive injection, she really does have racing and SA people working in the industry at heart.

As far as MJ, JZ etc, it’s been 3 years now, we have a police statement in SA “they will be brought to book” which is only a buzz word and means nothing and it will probably be difficult to nail anyone with lessor offenses and crimes against racing. You never know, what might come out in the wash?

Phumelela (or whoever) GC and Cape racing, will have to be united as one force, but racing has a checkered past, with power struggles, egos etc and will be a massive task to restructure and downscale to avoid duplication.

Wish the task team all the best, but this is not a quick fix, and if we don’t get racing started now! We might have nothing to fix.
