Dave as much as I love to banker solid speed in my p6 , I will take 2 p6's, one with solid speed as a banker and one with a few horses to cover a different result. I think if one is looking for a banker it surly must be maleficient

Solid Speed a couple of years older with good form and a liking for the track only has to give her 1kg. If it wasn't for the Legal Eagle scratching he would have been giving her 3,5 kg's, that will play a massive role in the chances of most of the 3 year olds. I see some bookies are already trimming his odds. Grab the 12/1 on offer with a few before it's all gone. Will be single figures soon.

C, point taken, I am going to trust Delpech's judgement on choice of rides. Considering he has ridden Solid Speed to both victories in the current KZN season, Delpech must know how much more improvement there is to come from Solid Speed, especially with less weight to carry than in the 1900.

The Snaith stable were seemingly confident (before Woolavington/Daily News day) that Black Arthur was good enough to miss that race, go straight into the July and possibly win it. Delpech seemingly riding Black Arthur up until that stage.

Woolavington run, Bela Bela wins in smart fashion and you would imagine it was the manner in which she won, that convinced the stable to leave her in for the July. Think it's fair to say she quickened well in both the Guineas and Woolavington confirming her class/improvement, so much so, Delpech has hopped off Black Arthur. I would be guessing if i said she is a big horse and therefore will hold her own during a rough run race, but small framed horses have done equally well at Greyville. Her ability to quicken is what may win it for her.

Kannemeyer has "been there, done that" , so i wouldn't dismiss Solid Speed's winning chances, however if the filly gets first run on them, she will go very close.

Sorry did my calculations wrong. Solid Speed would have been giving her 1,5kgs as she is one of the better weighted 3 year olds. Pace will also play a big role in this race.

My banker will be Poster Girl in the 9th. If this is the best to come out of the KZN Yearling Sale this race is really not a great advert for the sale.

Shrek/Frodo/Bayern, which senario would you pick /prefer?

A) 6month break, 2kg's better off but having a prep?
or
B) 2nd run after a rest, 2 kg's worse off but primed for a feature race?

Very little form between the 3 year olds and older horses so very difficult to assess how good they are. I still like It's My Turn, won the Derby well and ran an excellent second in the daily news off a slow pace. Won't have a problem staying.

I will be floating these two in the quarter and dutching them.

Plenty of horses under severe sufference in this race and plenty I have drawn a line through.
been plenty meetings lately between the 3yos and there elders and the 3yos have come out on top..liege won the jubilee ,exit here only 3yo beat his elders in the cup trial plus solid speed won the derby beating elders and witchcraft and flying ice 3yo fillies beat the elder brigade in the natal oaks add that to the drill hall stakes won by the only 3yo in the race

Karma, if you referring to one of the 3 year old colts, they are badly weighted, but so are many others.

If your fancy wins, then the above scenario doesn't matter.

Lol Bayern, not trying to be sarcastic or silly, was just a question :). Ps, its not a 3yr old :)

Karma, apologies if the response appears terse, not intended. The simplistic answer, sometimes the maths does work in favour of a well weighted horse in this game, so follow your intuition.

I'm looking elsewhere already. Don't care much for Fortune as a jockey. Master Sabina

If Rabada gets scrathed then I'm going for TGS to place

The 4.25/1 I'm getting currently looks great value after watching the finishing of the daily news
