Very little form between the 3 year olds and older horses so very difficult to assess how good they are. I still like It's My Turn, won the Derby well and ran an excellent second in the daily news off a slow pace. Won't have a problem staying.

I will be floating these two in the quarter and dutching them.

Plenty of horses under severe sufference in this race and plenty I have drawn a line through.

Shrek, would you mind sharing the list of horses you've eliminated.

Not in order;
French Navy
Ten Gun Salute
Mambo Mime
Solid Speed
Its my Turn
Black Arthur
St Tropez

The one thing that everyone is forgetting is that the field is not just competing against each other but also the track. Everyone forgets that the best horse in the race did not win last year, everyone's fancy will need a lot of luck. You cannot study which horse is going to get bumped at the 300m mark like Legal Eagle was last year. Any of the entrants can win.

Maybe Bob will post the replay of last year's race, watch the last 600m and tell me your fancy is not going to need luck.......no matter how good they are. Not to mention that there is one pace in the race.

Are we doing a Comp?

Maybe we get going early so that whomever is running it has plenty of time. (Not suggesting you do Magi B) ) too scared of the baseball bat.

Magi has become a "softy", he has swoped his titanium baseball bat for a latex one. :P :pinch:
He says he always rises to any occasion or to the competition sandals and all.

Well if you eliminate Rocket Ball and Samurai Blade, what about Abashiri - 3.5 kgs worse off with those on the SA Derby run

I think a lot of things in his favor - but I don't think the same trainer / jock combo has won the race 2 years in a row - I know there is a first time fro everything.

But I hope you are right - would be my best result.

Just for the record I have backed 11 of the 18 current starters Ante-Post

Bela Bela at 12/1
Solid Speed at 66/1
Mac de Lago at 28/1
Its My Turn at 28/1
Marinaresco at 25/1
St Tropez at 16/1
Mambo Mine at 33/1
Master Sabina at 55/1
Black Arthur at 5/1 and 6/1
The Conglomerate at 20/1
Rabada at 20/1 and 25/1

Of those, Solid Speed would be my best result followed by The Conglomerate, Master Sabina and Mac de Lago, smaller profit on Black Arthur, Its my Turn, St Tropez and Mambo Mine and sort of breaking square on Bela Bela and Marinaresco

So I would really not be happy if French Navy were to win
