Wow! I can't believe it! I may have at least four system bets today. Today I may push my new system bets past ten, which is the half way mark of my experiment. Here is what the system likes today should they start as interbet's favourites.

I can't wait for racing to start!

14 mins to the off and MOI POWER is a solid favourite on Interbet. The price has drifted slightly, but it should start as favourite. R15679 bet on it already on Interbet. So I'm glad to see it's getting some support.

9 mins to off and the R40 place bet is done on the tote.

6 mins to off and R20 win bet placed on interbet at R2.60

Ouch! Nothing for the win and very lucky to collect on the 3rd place because the judge had to seperate 3rd and 4th. So the day starts off with a small loss

Oh boy, it's going to be one of these kind of days. Once again my fancy places but can't win. Perhaps in my next refinement of this system I'll only do place bets....

5 mins to off and KING`S AFFAIR does not look like it will start as favourite, no bet here.

Just as well as it ran unplaced. RUN FOR REVELRY looks like it will start as favourite. Am I going to witness another loser that places?

9 mins to go and my money is down. R20 at R3.20 bet on interbet for the win and R40 tote place.

Unplaced...Wow... The system is suffering today...

THE ROYAL RUMBA does not look like a favourite with 15 mins to the off. So no bet there. It's a R64 loss for me today. Thank goodness I've been testing this with peanuts bet on my selections. I'll back to fight another day...

No bets for Flabingo Park today, so I've got some time to look at the figures and lick my wounds.

The goal is to hang in there and make the goal of 20 bets before trying to change the system again. After those 20 bets I'll look to tweak it. I've just gone past the halfway mark and this is how it looks...


12 x R20 win bets placed at a strike rate of 3/12 which is 25% for an overall loss of -R83.15 or to be more technical, -4.1575 betting units.

12 x R40 place bets placed at a strike rate of 9/12 which is 75% for an overall loss of -R3.08 or to be more technical, -0.077 betting units.

So the place bets are doing much better than the win bets. I doubt whether things will change in the last eight bets. I know Loopy Logic likes a place betting system, maybe there is some merit in that. So I've decided to start working on a place betting system for a possible chapter three of this thread. I warn you not to bet your life savings on it though. These systems tend to look good on paper and then go pear shaped once I start putting real money on them...
