South Africa coach Russell Domingo believes his team is “one of seven or eight” that can win the ICC World T20, despite suffering a hiding at the hands of Australia in Centurion on Friday night to lose their T20 series 2-0.

The Proteas leave for Bangladesh on Saturday and play two warm-up games against Bangladesh A and Pakistan before opening their World T20 campaign against Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka on March 22.

“There are seven or eight teams that can win the T20 World Cup and we're one of them,” Domingo told a press conference in Centurion after the loss to Australia by six wickets with five overs to spare

So says the coach who shouldn't have been appointed coach...but I guess they have to talk a good talk otherwise they might as well stay at home and mourn the departures of Smith and Kallis...

Still maintain that it will be one of the sub-continent teams...

Afghanistan beat Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, that must have been a big confidence boost. (tu)

I am normally very confident about SA teams(mostly overconfident) but with this team we will be lucky to get to the semifinals. Too many have shown that on most occasions the step up to this class from domestic cricket is too much. On top of that to leave Kyle Abbott at home is confusing to say the least!:S

Although 20/20 is not my cup of tea it beats betting on the horses so the TV stays on the cricket.

Took a bet on David Warner to be the top run scorer. This chap is in such phenomenal form and for quite some time now. A real big hitter and not afraid to play over the top in the first few overs.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

he loves the ball coming onto him. IMHO he wont do too well on these slower pitches. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuals will win it for the WIndies

Recon Virat Kohli will have a massive shout too. Warner does well in the IPL, no reason he can't do it in Bangladesh.
