In a verification process surely there should be 2 people checking this kind of thing like the lotto you have the caller and the auditor, when are the horses scanned, upon arrival or when? There is always going to be a lot of disagreement on this, many people have been turned off by this episode and will always feel done by....

IMO as I have stated from when this first surfaced is that there was a total lack of MANAGMENT from ALL sides. I admit that the Stipes did identify that there was a MIX UP with the Horses and this was actioned by disqualification. Also that the 'HORSE IDENTIFYER' got sacked, and rightly so, because she/he was accountable, as the Checking was either non existant or not done correctly. But where is the Transparency wrt the investigation. Who else took the fall or are Management not RESPONSIBLE to ensure that their Employees are competent to do the job they were employed for, so wtf is Management's role then. Do we really believe that people can be appointed in any position and then just left to do whatever they want. I for one would like to see the Training, past Disciplinary record of this Employee, etc of this employee as maybe she/he will end up at the CCMA and be re-instated.

IMO this Maqnagement responsibility is being covered up, makes one think that these last two incidences MIGHT only be the tip of the Iceberg.

Isn't this the same trainer who some years ago had a run-in with the racing authorities for one or other irregularity?

Will the real Magic Feet please stand up.

Carded to run in Race 1, as a first timer at odds of 25/1.

Has the horse identifiers credentials been verified?

Thanks for the update - any idea why the fine was reduced as R10k seems lenient - R1k is pocket change:S

What a bloody joke! The fine should have been much more to prevent this type of transgression never ever be repeated.
