Hi Clanners

Allthough this thread is interesting IMVHO it is all only pure CONJECTURE to compare one trainer to another. Something like who was the best Boxer ever, Mohammed Ali, Jack Dempsey. Sugar Ray Leonard or maybe Cassius Clay. There are just too many variables.

We are all entilted to have an opion which differs from others. My irratation is that certain Posters get derogatory when their opion is challenged. Play the ball and not the man.

I don't appreciate that we get personal with peoples' livelihoods...I would not like to be judged on an open forum...by ignoramus's in some instances....:(

Exactly Pirhobeta. Someone who is interested in maybe taking a share or buying a horse for that Trainer might be having second thoughts after reading some idiots post. He might not know any better. Some guys are playing with peoples livelyhoods.

Never easy to try and keep a balance on an open forum and no matter what call the moderators make it won't be acceptable to all, however I feel we have a fairly mature poster base but one must also consider "would you like something said about yourself that you are prepared to post about others?"

Guys I am honored to see 5 pages devoted to my training prowess or lack thereof . I have trained for 37 consecutive years and enjoyed every moment of working with the horses. I have had many other job offers in this time but do what I love. I appreciate the support from most of u on this post and especially Craig who is basically my opposition!!! I have trained horses to the best of my ability and believe that I have got the best out of most of them.I have made many errors and hope the learning curve has improved me.i train in Durban because I got divorced and needed a new enviroment. Thanks to all who have supported me through my career.

Thank you James for your thoughts on the other thread.

Would like to add that we have dealt with James for many years firstly in New Turf and now as trainers. He has been a loyal client of New Turf for 16 years.

Now when we get horses in PE from James you know exactly what you are working with as he gives a lot of input when they arrive. They always get here in super condition and there is more than a little meat left on the bone for us.

PS space for a few more please !!

Success or failure,in any walk of life and over any period of time,is seldom based on luck, except through the eyes of the unsuccessful.

how dare you, are you saying that MDK is just a bit more talented than others?
are you saying that

Maria Mutola inspite of her upbringing just had more talent
or
Haile Gebre Selassie from poverty had more talent
or
Zola Bud with no shoes had more talent
or
The Williams Sisters had more talent
or
Nelson Mandela becoming a lawyer during apartheid had more desire

OR

Mr Gary Player
