took double 56/1 not sure what percentage is taken of if horse wins.
I would think that since this is the KZN season that the staff at Hollywood would be trained to answer basic questions.
I think their might be persons who wants to take a same horse double to win and win the July as per example above, has now spend more than half an hour speaking to various persons at Hollywood to find out with what % will the odds shorten for the July if if Taipan wins tonight?
NOBODY COULD GIVE ME THE ANSWER.

How could they tell you James? they are not traders. If the horse won by 25L on the snap he would be 5/10

I was very impressed with taipans Greyville debut, was running on very nicely indeed and not rdden out but still going away from those behind him. If he has come on even a little bit, this will be a doddle. I never take 15/10 about a horse but have lots of doubles and trebles onto this one.

I know for a fact that if yu take a same horse double that there is a fixed percantage that your bet get reduced by, as you already took the bet you do not get the new odds even if it wins by 100 l and go to 5/10 your bet stand but with a fixed 'deduction" i do have a figure of 30% but i am not sure,
i was hoping that the experts on the site would know but it seems to me that no one knows the answer, and i am sure there are people taking same horse doubles in to the July and there will be a lot with all the futures for excample Jackson to win 1900 onto the July, don't people care what the odds will be if the double arrives or am I the only "stupid " here asking the question?:S

As Dave says my bookies deducts 33,33% on a related bet. So for Taipan at 16/10 x 20/1 = 53,6/1 x 66,67% (100% less 33,33%) = 35,73/1. More or less how it would work.
