Good morning and also must say what a great vibe.
I thought for the first 20 mins we were looking at 0-3? but when they started settling down and then scored the place went crazy.
Was broken when the Mexicans scored and then hitting the post in the last few minutes.
However a great night and well done to Bafana keeps the interest for millions of South Africans.
viva!

Good question Greg. One thing that has happened already is that more of the white population in SA will begin to enjoy the beautiful game. The owner of the pub we were at yesterday said. "I've never really watched soccer. Man it's intense and interesting if your team is playing!"
Point 2 This world cup has a greater chance of uniting people in SA. Along with the bulls match at Orlando, Soccer is bringing the white population into arears that they would never have ventured before. I am sure that this has openned eyes, hearts and minds of the South Africans that have ventured into these areas. In fact a whole new South Africa has opened to us, a South Africa we never ventured into out of fear created by our former opressive regime. Thats right we too were opressed by them. Look how closed minded we were.
This country will forever be an example to the world and the legacy of the world cup may not be as material in tangible objects but may rather be a legacy of open mindedness and carying for all in this beautiful land.

Instead of thinking about what's gonna happen afterwards why don't we all just enjoy the moment, this is a month which we will never experience again in our lifetime so the future can wait as far as I'm concerned...

Brilliant vibes in SA,and great performance from Bafana after starting off slowly, they did us proud.Know to keep the momentum as the other teams in the section drew.

Just enjoy the moment - for afterwards the crime and the unemployment will still be there. And we are going to be tolled on that lovely freeways.
As for the game (and note I am NOT in any way a soccer fundi) I thought the Bafana did pretty well and was unclucky not to win - surely we were denied a penalty - unfortunate that the defense went so sleep and let in the equalizer. Going forward I am not too confident of going through to the second round - we relly needed that win yesterday

France captain Patrice Evra has already blamed the noise generated by the vuvuzelas, which has been likened to the drone of thousands of bees, for his side's poor showing in their opening group game against Uruguay, which finished goalless.
He said: "We can't sleep at night because of the vuvuzelas. People start playing them from 6am.
"We can't hear one another out on the pitch because of them."
