.....the National lotteries commission more recently won their case against local bookies in offering their draw numbers in the bookies fixed betting markets.....yet it counts for squat....as many bookies are still taking these bets as I often find discarded betting slips when walking my dog in the park as he has a penchant for eating paper....the last ticket I pried from his mouth came from a Betfred branch.....maybe one day he actually finds a winning lotto ticket....

If I'm not mistaken, the bookies are only using the numbers in this instance, and are working the odds on the probabilities of that outcome.
for example 2 numbers and the bonus is 7/1 etc etc.
if the bookies want to lay the p6 , then no problem, use the horses odds and declare their own dividend , something like hollywood does on their competition site.
it works out the odds and give you an option to actually take that bet with various payouts depending on the number of winners you get right.
here there is no IP, THIS IS PROBABILITES

on the tote we are not backing the odds, but rather we're backing the difference in opinions.
for example 10% of the public think the even money shot is a banker , 40 % play to beat it with 3 horses and 50% go field (10 horses), that even money wins like a 3/1 shot in the exotics and that the excitement of racing , the difference of opinions

Re: Online Bookmakers
2 years 6 months ago - 2 years 6 months ago.....yet like the open bet they are taking bettors money instead of it going into the pool.....I did a quick search and see that Betfred on their online portal show the SA lotto logo and a betting slip but do not know if this is a legit entry on behalf of the local lotto as the ticket I found had fixed odds prices and the bettor had played for 3 numbers at a fixed odds price.....possibly they see a loophole and are using the draw numbers for it.....on the other hand WSB have local lotto portal that goes to the national lotto pool and will pay up to R50K into your betting account if you win....bigger amounts have to be claimed from the National Lottery directly....I feel that no one has the right to offer any form of wagering on any other parties products/games outcomes and payouts and that local licensing/gambling boards should get tough on transgressions, but they may have been long captured right off the bat......:SIf I'm not mistaken, the bookies are only using the numbers in this instance, and are working the odds on the probabilities of that outcome.

Our National lottery has various platforms to take the lottery from banking apps to MTN Momo etc. They are getting a commission same like over the counter agents. There to a maximum amount can be claimed only.

.....yet ironically the banks that offer the lotto which is imo still gambling allow one overdrafts to do so....yet take a dim view to one that habitually uses their account for placing funds into a betting account....
for this reason I prefer to put funds into betting accounts via voucher....

It is nigh on impossible for punters to win in this game and yet bookmakers set limits the moment a punter shows any degree on shrewdness, so this is effectively a zero sum game (Zero-sum game is a mathematical representation in game theory and economic theory of a situation which involves two sides, where the result is an advantage for one side and an equivalent loss for the other).
My 26 year old son has suddenly fallen in love with punting horses (never shown an interest before) and I'm doing everything in my power to discourage his participation. There is no upside!
I've been to the GAMBLING BOARD about the 'limits situation' - they say bookmakers can do as they please.
Last year I wrote to the Consumer Protection Commission - they referred me back to the Gambling Board
A ZERO SUM GAME.
Some states in Australia have introduced an obligation on bookmakers to lay a minimum bet to all punters. We need the same here, but who's going to fight for the punters?
Nothing's going to change people. The game doesn't deserve to find a new generation of punters. The odds have always been loaded against punters, but now it really is a ZERO SUM GAME.

Not so far from. Now this will be a dead game .The problem with this game are those in Power still there keeping their hands clean .KZN racing will fall on their face ,my honest opinion is why is Michael. Narec and Graham Hawkins still there.Lets take it further ,why is Vee Moodley still there ?
After the met I'm throwing in the towel after 47 years , this game is mugged ,and for the powers that be I dedicate the poem city Johannesburg to you all .
