Hopefully Zeus can pull it off and give Soft Falling Rain his first Grade 1 win. Red Saxon is definitely the danger.

Evening Primrose ran a place and Gavin van Zyl has won the Derby with an outsider, Seal.

The Computaform Sprint winner, Rafeef, sired a Derby winner.

The SA Nursery winner, Soft Falling Rain, sired the second place horse Zeus.

Both of them got their stamina from their dam.

Disappointed. Last November when I saw it win, I knew the Derby will be the mission. Travelled well in the race, just could not close it out.

That dam, Lil Bacio, is going to get a very good soon.

Its a pity, there is only one Grade one race over 2400m which is an age restricted race.

Horses that are bred for distance will never get a chance to get that honour.

The Derby only had three horses with a rating over 100.

The Oaks, the placed horses had ratings in the 70s and low 80s.
