.....have put many hours ped peeling into this catalogue (online) and imho there are a lot of very well bred horses.....
and catching the GC podcast featuring BSA's Alisair Gordon tend to agree that there may be too many good horses which may not get the big money bids due to the fewer big money buyers.....

Hard to spend money when your racing for 37k and stabling is 12500 pm

....too true....however the big money buyers are looking for the elusive 3% of the top performers ....very a hard task with 50+Vercingetorix and 40+ Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) for starters....and those wanting a decent grey horse will have a hard task with a higher than usual number to choose from....:S

This is a very strong catalogue both in terms of pedigrees and what I have seen iro the physical specimens.
The big money will no doubt be on Vercingetorix, Gimmethegreenlight of which there are plenty to choose from.
Still a few Silvano’s from his final crop, and Trippi still producing.

We have 7 on offer from Black Swan Stud:
81 Elusive Fort - Omaticaya filly. The second foal from a listed race winning Silvano mare that I raced and this is a very athletic filly that looks a classic type. By our super sire Elusive Fort, who is having another great season on the track, and currently on a par with likely champion sire Vercingetorix when measured by Average Earnings Per Runner. Best value for money sire in SA.
172 Master of my Fate- Silvan Star. Colt. Second foal from a top class racemare, by Silvano. Dam won at gr3 level for us and was gr1 placed. Impeccably bred she is a close relative to sire Bold Silvano. The first foal by Elusive Fort will run soon and is reportedly decent. A very smart individual that is hard to fault on conformation and probably the best of our colts.
206 Captain of All- Sylvie filly. 5th foal and all three runners have won, including the top class sprinter Sarah. Her unraced two year old by Vercingetorix sold for R700k. Our best filly and a gorgeous individual. Dam from the great Winter Solstice family. By a somewhat underrated sire who has shown that he can throw top horses, and despite being a champion sprinter some of his best have stamina.
216 Twice Over- Tequila Blush colt. A very smart sort, he is a half brother to stakes winner Helen’s Ideal. Two winners from 3 runners so far, the mare is by Fort Wood, and so this colt should stay 2400m. Dare I say a Triple Crown prospect?
400 Elusive Fort- Golden Dawn filly. Dam has one winner from two runners( the other recovering from a fractured pelvis). Listed winner dam, and this filly very closely related to Gr 1 winner Chestnuts and Pearls. A neat and well proportioned filly, she moves very well and should be best 1600m- 2000m.
432Rafeef- Inner Temple. Filly A half sister to Gr 1 winner Temple Grafin by a very promising young sire. She has great paddock value and should get a mile.
446 Elusive Fort- Iris and Ruby colt. A full brother to a multiple winner. An outstanding physical specimen, although the mare does not have as strong a pedigree as our others. If judged purely on looks, he could be the pick of our draft.
