RA Election
6 years 8 months ago
Dean Alexander , Mike De Kock, Charles Savage, Rob Scott and Anthony Joahnnides have accepted nominations for the upcoming RA election
Not sure what position, sure they all have something to offer

Personally the RA should be scrapped and a new entity formed.
one that does not represent a very few members of Racing.
one that can liase with P,NHRA, Gold Circle without fear or favour

Momentum is gathering, had this message 33 times
“Your chance for change ahead. If you're an RA member please vote for Charles Savage and Mike de Kock.
If you're not, please pass on to all members you know to vote wisely and bring in the change needed”

quick technical question - can someone who works for Phumelela which is part-owned by the RA stand for the RA Board - is there no conflict here?

Re: RA Election
6 years 8 months ago.....technically the RA is supposed to be interdependent of the operator who does not or is not supposed to own any part of the RA at all....the original concern of the "concerned owners" was that Phumelea Directors were also directors of the RA....and yes it is a conflict should this continue happen....:blink:Don wrote: quick technical question - can someone who works for Phumelela which is part-owned by the RA stand for the RA Board - is there no conflict here?

This seems to be an exciting development. For the first time in a while there seems to be genuine challengers to the RA cabal. Dave Scott you should be acutely aware of how things were played against you and your fellow "concerned owners" all those years ago. Expect the machine to respond to this call for change. I find it very interesting that Mike de Kock has thrown his hat into the ring. Good for him and the Purple man.

......and still to be revealed..... is how the guardians of the Racing Trust.....allowed the depletion of the majority of Phumelela shares held by the Trust from more than 36% to a mere 25%.....who sanctioned this and why.....and how will it affect the future stakes formulation......

Hopefully Messrs. De Kock, Savage and Alexander will find out and inform us how the Trust shareholding has decreased by 10% and institute steps to rectify it.

.....when we express the 10% of Trust shares reduction that is 10% of total Phum shares.....and it means that they have been stripped of a whopping 33% of their original shares.....can they justify a 33% loss in future earnings from share dividends....who are going to kick in to the stakes pot formulation to make up this deficit.....

Just read this post OTA
Yes i did attend the "concerned owners " meetings and put my hand up for the RA with others and we were totally out voted.
My vision for ABC going forward may have been different to some of the concerned owners but i never had any doubt that they were "givers " to the game rather than "takers"
The damage that the "Jooste Juggernaut" eventually did to racing has been heartbreaking to follow.
However we cant change the past, but looking at the new "hands up " for the RA, I certainly see "givers " rather than "takers" that want to make a change.
Hopefully racing can revert to an upswing, which many racing people deserve and we can all start moving in a positive direction.
Ps massive task but all the best and
Good punting

Ive never been able to understand, how and why is Gold Circle structured so differently to racing under Phum operator?
