Romi's Boy 9/2 and Champagne Haze 10/1 will do for me in Race 7.

Romi's Boy style of racing means he loves the inside course and his facile win here previously showed that. Ran a fair 4th at Greyville behind Sommerlied who came out and beat Brutal Force in a thriller. I think as a 4yo, Romi's Boy should start to realise his massive potential. Happy to take 9/2 in a fairly wide open field.

Champagne Haze is getting better with age and his excellent 5th in the Mercury Sprint underlined that. Had a hopeless draw and ran on smartly. We know how strong that race was. Not an easy task with draw 14 and 63kgs but he is by far the classiest horse of this bunch and at 10/1 is worth a strike. Also has always thrived at this course which suits his smart turn of foot.

Also keen eye on Maximizer who's one to take note of. Early selection for the Grand Heritage for me along with Social Order. Very impressive win on the Greyville Poly and he looks one for the season. But this might just be too short for him.

Like a few others too on a much better card for a while at Turffontein.

Spring Wonder, put a line through her last run, not striding out, she will finish ahead of both Secret Star and Myfunnyvalentine despite conceding a kilogram less to Myfunnyvalentine this time round. The reason I say this, Spring Wonder does appear to be more comfortable over the 1200m rather than the 1160m which she beat abovementioned rivals. Whilst not favourite, being a 4 time winner I think she is well in against the favourite, Alileo, who is a 2 time winner. At 9/2 Spring Wonder is good value even if you missed the opening call of 8/1.

On the lighter side, for the superstitious among us, you can invoke the confirmation bias of why Spring Wonder should win :woohoo:

Pure Blonde would be my pick if it had a better draw, will be sitting the race out though. A lot of class drawn wide and could come down to luck in running.

I like bondiblu @7/1 e/w. Will enjoy the extra distance and always gives a good account.
