Futura

Legislate. The Queen’s Plate is a race missing on his resume. Legislate, at his best, will always beat Futura over 1600m. The one time where Futura beat Legislate was in last year’s QP – Legislate was clearly ill so draw a line through that. Legislate also loves running fresh. Case in point – the Gold Challenge at Greyville. He won after a 6-7 month layoff, start to finish. Look at last year’s green point, again raced fresh and destroyed the field.

Some may point to their ratings. Yes, Futura has a 119 compared to Legislate’s 117 but no doubt Futura’s 119 was earned over the longer distances where he is superior to Legislate. However at a mile, Legislate is king. Take into account he runs fresh again plus looking to redeem himself after last year’s queen’s plate, the 5/1 Hollywood offered this morning looks juicy.

Have also had a small saver on Act of War at 8/1. Didn’t run his race last time, wrong tactics, will be better on the longer straight too.

I pretty much agree with the Master - except in that I think Captain America will be Legislate's biggest danger
