Alan "I pick it up now from the 1000 metre mark" Schoeman.. Best commentator in SA! Lol.. The new guy from Ngong on sunday, in basically a two horse race, called the wrong horse all the way down the straight this horse ran 2nd only for him to correct himself long AFTER the winning post and if that wasn't bad enough the horse that won, he got the name correct but the wrong number, also to be corrected later.. A double whammy..
When you running with the big dogs, u can't piss like a puppy..

For me,his call was the clear picture!!! Sirens caught dekocks hoss & went past, every man & his dog thought it was the TT winner!!!! On betfair Pine Princess woulda been 100-1 when Sirens went past.

It's not my field of expertise but I wonder wether getting a guy to do in studio one day, commentating the next and then on course presenter the next day is really not the way to go. Surely this permanent multi-tasking will cause errors more often than not. Let's be honest they have too many doing this, there has to be a better way to run TT using the best talents where they need to be used.. either that or it's just a kak paying job??

Unless they are so hungry for money that they just want to work,or they need to work because they owe there bookmaker money ,could still be paying off his Mother Russia bet still.

Can't believe this thread is still going on! The solution is very simple, Nico can either read the negatives, take note and try to change/improve or he can choose to ignore them and carry on the same. If he chooses the latter he will no doubt continue to be "criticised" by some and that, I am somewhat sorry to say, will definitely include me. The choice is his. Like any other commentator. Like anybody else. I believe it is called life

In the olden days of Wolfhaardt and Duffield commentators were not paid. It was just a hobby

Ok, let one "critic" lol give credit where he thinks credit is due, I thought Nico was generally pretty darn decent today on a difficult card, even the usual screeching was kept to a minimum, at least from what I saw/heard
Well done to him, especially as he probably had one or two "nerves" bubbling under today after the recent knocks. Hoping it continues
