Got beaten by too many wide's and the belief that short bowling has a place in T20!:X

i think the better team won and my only negetive from our team was bowling jp and albie in first 2 overs and allow india to get away to a fast start.maybe ab to bat at 3 as he is our 1 quality batsman.
anyway i hope sri lanka can beat these indians in the final and give jayawardene and sangakara a good farewell to t20 cricket.

Excellent effort by the Proteas, unfortunately we were beaten by one of the best batsmen in cricket.

The bowlers let us down imo - also some strange bowling options (needed to bowl Steyn earlier imo after Duminy got pasted in that first over) - however, Kohli showed his class and the best team won - well done India

Poor captaincy and poor bowling...Kohli could bat himself in after start they had attacking JP (he's suddenly become our no 1 spinner :S) and Albie (was previously dropped from the team as an all-rounder as his bowling was not up to scratch...)...
I'll say it...we choked again...174 was defendable if we had half a clue about what to do...we had the runs but created no scoreboard pressure by getting them behind the rate required early...then it was normal batting for India to get 8-10 an over...no risks required...
And then with 40 to defend off 4, we still had a 30-40% chance by getting one good over in...what happens, Parnell misses his length too short or too full and gets hit for 17 off edges and behind square when most of our fielders are in front of the wicket...
@shrek...excellent effort means ZERO if you don't win...nobody remembers who comes second...but we continue to support as our blood is green...

TNaicker, choke is a strong word to use. India are the best T20 side in World cricket. We only have 2 bowlers, Steyn and Tahir, at this level. We are the only side in the comp that had put a competitive total against them. It was an excellent effort and even though we lost we can hold our heads high unlike the Aussies and English sides. (tu)
Unfortunately it is the so called fans that keep going on about chocking that we don't need in SA sport, we should rather support our teams through thick and thin.

pathetic that SA are termed as chokers everytime they lose. Its a stigma that has been attached to them all because they lost the 99 semi to Aussies. I hope people will now dropped that as its not a thing that should be hung around their necks for eternity.

When the Asian sides play outside of Asia, they are not effective.
The World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year will not be won by an Asian team.

Until we win a world cup the chokers label will haunt us...

I have been a supporter since the rebel tour days..I was eight when the rebel WI team was here...and despite restrictions in terms of where one could sit, we still went to matches at Kingsmead (and likely other grounds)...so, my support is unqualified...
I don't care about India (even though my grandfather was from India...we are ONLY second generation SAfricans...), Aus, Eng or New Zealand (like our former electrician Minister of Finance who supports their rugby team...)...I am a South African and, as I have posted before, SA is the only team I support no matter what the sport or how good / bad they are at it...
I played the game for many years and can see when a team finds ways to lose or let the opposition win when odds are greater that they will win, then I consider that a choke...not everyone will agree with that term but that's my view of it...and it's not the first time that they (as a team, in it's various guises and under a variety of captains and coaches) have done this...once, it's understandable...twice, it's forgivable...a multitude of times, it's choking under pressure (self-inflicted on many occasions due to folly or arrogance or ???)
And to think that I'm reacting like this to a format (T20) that I care NIL about...my 6 year daughter was telling me again yesterday that "it's just a game !!" and the wife repeated same when she got home and I gave awry smile and held my tongue...if we make excuses, then we accept falling short is an achievement...then we must just look forward to the next event as being also-rans...
