Thank the lord there is no Jury here - South Africa is not mature enough as a democracy and society to have a Jury

Dave that is why she have two assessors, they are there to advice her, the are highly qualified too , the lady assessor is a friend of mine and in the same church as well, she is also an advocate and has quite a few degrees in law.

so I think that between the 3 of them they will get it right :)

Remember, ni matter what your qualifications. Only judges with many years exoerience should be allocated to such high profile cases. Yes it is a difficult case too, with many issues that will be argued. The assessors will not really make a difference.

This is a new judge who did not practice law very long. New judges are usually very afraid to have their judgments taken apart on appeal. They often acquit in order to avoid appeals

No expert but Imvho he is guilty and will be found guilty and with what I have watched via few highlights I find the legal system a nightmare and IMO anyone must be mad to be a witness, that is why people rather cut their losses or turn the other cheek and walk away rather than be humiliated by some over educated highly paid legal person trying to twist words of people just trying to state what they believed happened.

As I say just my opinion on the limited viewing I have, sorry if I offended any "clever" people

One thing ive never understood is why Oscar would want to compete in the proper olympic race - when it is obvious that the reson there is a Paralympics is obvious. I would have been embarrased if that was me tailed off - and obviously a character problem to want to force normality when he obviously is not. Reeva must have said something and he couldnt accept it - thus taking a life - He must pay - f the bull shi t about an intruder. If they believe that hog wash then I give up on our legal system!

Prosecutor is probably the top one in SA. Defence advocate is considered one of the best in the country and is said to be a brilliant strategist. We will see. Was said to be like a woodpecker chipping away at a block of wood until it collapses.

How on earth does he plead not guilty to firing a gun in a public place if I understand that charge correctly - He was obviously negligent with the firearm in that restaurant and the mere fact that the gun was passed UNDER the table suggests he knew his actions were wrong before it was fired negligently. He already demonstrated then that he did not understand or did not care about gun safety. Further allowing his friend to take the rap points to his character and questions his honesty. He unfortunately will be convicted of something but of what needs to be seen

Kind of agree with your view.
I am no psychologist, when Oscar smiles it comes across as a sneer.
It comes across as "I am the man"....I have done what no one else can do, and he has done that in terms of his athletic achievements.

And what he has done is great.

But personally, I think the man has a major EGO problem.

Human nature, extremely difficult to figure out. Why does a man do what he does.

First thing I would do, IF, I believe that there is an intruder/burglar, is to alert my family, and to make sure they are safe...Human nature, to protect your loved ones.

So if there were only two people in the house, I would want to find that other person to ensure that he/she was safe, versus shooting blindly.

Guilty,

But our justice system has shown how easy it is for the the guilty to be proved innocent. Ask Mr Z

Does money have anything to do with this?
