@Titch:
'There is little doubt in my mind that Candy Girl is PK or at the very least "riding to instructions" from her...in fact there is NO doubt'
That might be it. Whatever, the relevance? Of no consequence to me.... definitely!
We have had numerous similar 'ghost' posters here on other threads. If to regurgitate and add spin pleases them, let them be!

imo she would have added credence to her standpoint if she used her own name and not purport to be a third party who is supportive of her which only serves to add fuel to the sceptics fire of which i am one...

For Christmas this year I have a wish. Hibs please make everyone post under their own names. Then as that old radio program was called there would be " No place to hide" and it would give the forum more credence and maybe(probably from what I hear) the operators would take more notice. 1 of the reasons I was given that they dont reply or post on forums is that they are just attacked from behind these names and faceless people. If you going to complain then put it under your name or at least reveal who you are under the sticky at the top. Dont hide! Show yourself!

@craig Eudey:
'the operators would take more notice. 1 of the reasons I was given that they dont reply or post on forums is that they are just attacked from behind these names and faceless people.'
That is belated spin also!
Why didn't the operators come out / indicate that they will not respond to faceless people all this while?
How come some of their spokespersons have come onto this site on other issues to 'clarify / inform / educate' forumites?
How come they advertise to 'faceless people' (punters) in the media?
Where is the difference / scarification?
On numerous occassions, I approached them directly / openly for comments, etc; they never even acknowledged (except for Tony Winthour & Rob de Kock of the NHA). In fact, the late Tennant told me bluntly that they are not answerable to me.... go jump in the lake!
Yet, they were prepared to 'buy me off' to support corporatisation and I was theuir blue-eyed boy during negotiations whilst I was on the Gauteng Gambling Board? Hypocrisy? Worse than the one-time JZ mouthpiece & praise-singer JuJu!
I have every right to umbrage.... not so?
And they have no credibility or deserve respect.... not even recognition!
Go Phindi ...go! Go CC go! Woza Hawks, woza!
Phansi these arrogant, insolent leeches who have stripped the industry..... phansi!

100 percent but plenty posters have posted who they are and are well known to the operatots AND THEY STILL CHOOSE TO IGNORE THEM

Umlilo, I can understand what you saying but I myself as an idividual would like to know who is posting and hiding behind these Pseudonyms so I can understand their frustrations when attacked from there. If you are going to attack someone them have the balls to put your name there! There a number of times I have been 1 minute away from stopping posting on this site after being attacked by idiots who have no clue from behind some pseudonym. At the moment it is like being attacked by a faceless coward!:X Whenever I have contacted one of the GC directors to clarify something they have been great. Havent really had to deal with Phumela.

Honestly read this thread over and minus the odd insert from a few who have tried to keep it on point the rest is exactly the rubbish the spin Drs would have take centre stage.
Craig specifically to your point, everyone knows who I am, however I respect that others may want to remain "unknown" there are far too many examples of people being persecuted by the industry for their "different" views. I have experienced this first hand. The day people feel they can speak openly without taking cover is the day we start winning!

@Craig Eudey:
'Whenever I have contacted one of the GC directors to clarify something they have been great.'
I am still awaiting responses to written questions put to GC last year for my presentation to the(at the time) PMG, Sports & Recreation. I also had correspondences to the directors, Graeme Hawkins (user!) and M Nairac (go back to Mauritius!)
If you think I am nit-picking them..... ask them. If you want to see the document, pm your email.
Like the ANC, they give a damn for those not within their circle, yet, they operate inside the public domain with privileges granted by the people via State (licences and tax concessions)!
With due respects, Craig, there is more than rot in the State of Denmark; nobody can approve, support or ever condone it! The track recrod is open to inspection anytime!

TWR if you feel strongly enough about something and are sure you are right then what are you worried about. Too much sniping and sh.t spoken from behind these names. Put your name there and be counted if you are confident you are right. Dont hide as I for 1 dont take too much notice of people that hide and snipe. To me it is cowardly. Anyway my opinion only. Possibly got others that agree but I stand by what I would like to see.

Umlilo I am shocked at your response, and this from someone who has made himself known to all and does not hide behind a "name', surely you cannot believe that Phindi is the answer to the Industry's problems,????
Yes she has highlighted the need to revisit things as they stand and that there is a lot that needs attention, but if she really has the Horse Racing industry at heart she would not even consider running it herself as she is clearly not qualified to do so which leads me to believe that she is only here for self gain and has no other agenda, her campaign is typical of any politician, say things that you believe people want to hear ie stop the selling of assets,put racing first,give the people what they want etc etc... but once you are entrusted with the position full you coffers and run...her entire image is built on stories ranging from unsubstantiated claims to outright lies, whether this is by design or not is anyones guess, she first claimed to be the only female breeder in SA in an interview abroad when this was disproven she changed her story to that of being the first black breeder in SA, when Richard Maponya's name was mentioned she then went the route of the first black female breeder, the point im trying to make is that she appears to be making statements that suit her cause with no regard for the truth and this has to bring her motives into question,in another interview when asked about the R25M race she planned to hold in Plett she claims that its not a lot of money due to the fact(sic) that the Arc is run for a stake of 10M euro and in yet another she talks about horses being invited that cost 30M GBP...
She is a typical case of doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons...the SA Gravy Train is fully loaded,in fact overbooked and does not need another passenger certainly not at the expense of the horse racing Industry...
As for your choice of words ~ Phansi arrogant leeches and Woza Phindi ~ this smacks of the very racism that you claim to abhor and are forever reminding us of, that terminology was born in an era that all South Africans should be grateful is behind us why dwell on the past when that enrgy should be used to work towards a better future, racism is not a one way street,we need to respect everyone irrespective of their religion race or creed ....

@Craig Eudey:
my name is Hanif Manjoo.
I hail from Kwa-Duguza and was an activist (not the bombing type!). Amongst my fellow comrades at the time were some of the prominent ministers who are/were in cabinet / parliament. I was also a partner with late Kate Zuma in a travel agency (no! no! not Travelgate!)
My name Umlilo is what got from my stint as a shop steward at Makro, Crown Mines during the early '90's because I was a firey, outspoken, rabble-rousing twit!
They conspired to eventually force me to resign 'cos I submitted confidential info regarding alleged theft by senior white staff.
The CEO phoned them and informed then that I had made the allegations against them (whereas, the info was passed onto me confidentially by concerned staff members!)
They turned around after a sham investigation, said allegations were baseless, threatened me with legal action and dismissal (this, just after I was discharged from hospital after a spinal op); my fellow shop stewards (Duma Nkosi was chairman of SACCAWU at the time), dropped me like a hot potato! So, I resigned!
A year later, a white manager reported the same incident to the directors. Both the alleged senior staff were suspeneded.... and never heard of again! That was justice! You blame me for being bitter against both whites and blacks (whether they in business or unions)?
When I was a foreman / manager at an egg-laying farm in Wewe (Tongaat), I was to be off the weekend and I reminded my manager to order feed.
Upon returning on the following Monday, I was told that there was no feed delivered and that I was the reason for it. At the time, there were no labour laws (worse for agricultural sector where we worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week with no overtime), and I was fired there and then despite my innocence! Maybe, Mr Chrsi Saunders willrecall the subsequent letter I sent to him about this 'English justice'?
That will give you a slight idea of the incriminations, victimisation and sufferings most of us blacks were subjected to.
I served on the Gauteng Gambling Board and resigned in protest when corporatisation of the horseracing industry was approved (despite being over-ruled by the sub-committee), and a casino licence given to a bidder who had approached me with a massive bribe (that I turned down)!
I owned the 4-time winner Summer Ridge and had some other lousy experiences with trainers and partners.
I have a share in Gavin's syndicate currently.
I have many firm friends amongst forumites and always respond to any questions / c.arification.
I have no intention of slef-enrichment in any format / vehicle; I don't need it.
Malema (sorry!) is not my friend!
I reside in Gauteng (Robertsham area). I am a staunch supporter of the Freedom Charter (which I maintain can solve our problems), and am a committed BCM (Steve Biko) activist, despite all else!
Biko said 'Black man... find yourself!'
I say 'Man! Find yourself!'
Trust that elucidates and contributes towards '50 +1 shades of grey (oops, black!)?
:)o
