Have to agree with Neon................it is a SA title and should be in respect of SA racing.......simple
The historic situation should be buried just like a lot of other bad history!
How would you define SA based???? Why is a jockey riding in Mauritius TEMPORARILY, less "SA based" than a jockey riding in Zimbabwe.
Until a jockey who leaves the country (eg.Schofield) gains new citizenship,he is South African and theoretically could be champion in Australia and SA in the same season (using the same winners in 2 different titles)??????? I don't think that makes any sense

Let's just put it down to economics and allow the host country jockeys to be able to ride winners and earn their way without our jocks congregating on their track.
Should be the other way around actually, if the no. of race meetings in Zim are to be calculated, you would xpct more of their jocks trying to get mounts in S.A.
I'm sure no restrictions in place?

If Ryan Moore wins 20 races in Ireland, 10 in France and 5 in the States does it count towards the British title?

So it becomes a 2 horse race season after season....matter of time before PE and KIM races will be excluded,...

Titch why would that happen? Zim is a separate country run by a mad man.

I agree Titch. Two horse race indeed. Since forever the Zim wins had been included, why change it now? Could it be that some super jocks and their powerfull supporters are running scared...

It seems that 250K can buy a lot of authority

For me it's not the 250k buying authority, it's more like the authority buying the 250k.

On the record...it had nothing to do with the 250k prize money.....it's a SA title ,not a ZIM/SA title.....next u want Ngong included ?Or let's throw Mauritius in the mix.....and how can u say it's only a 2 horse race? When Fortune chased the title and rode all over the country he won it due to hard work! What happened to Marcus and delpech then?
