Yes sir.....that was the ZEBULON of the 90's .....he got me hooked for life ....my fav horse of all time..the grey,FULL NORTH...think he ran 23 runs 2nd and 3rd .Can anybody remember the day Jeff Lloyd won on him by 3 lengths after being behind at the 800m 17 lenghs and still at the 200m 5 lengths behind ....he ran from 1200m to 2400m and was always less than 2 lengths behind the winner

I have just been reading all the comments with regards the shortage of boxes ect, ect.
My suggestion is first off all why arnt the the trainers more honest with there patrons and tell them that there horse is a dead loss and if they haven't won a maiden after 10 runs you are wasting your money sell the horse or send it to Kimberley and invest in a another
And secondly why not buy a farm close to JHB and start another training center like Rankiesfontein problem solved

Moose my dad had a Filly years back called Faro she won 8 races and was placed in 3 features and Summer Dream who won 7 and ran 2nd to Geralds Boy in a feature in Jhb....he also had the full sister to Summer Dream who could not get out of her own way and his trainer (Jackie Gorton) told him to get rid of her after her 1st start as a 2 yo but he would not hear of it...a lot of owners keep thinking that maybe their horse will turn the corner and become emotionally attached , Im sure that any trainer who knows a horse is "going nowhere" would want to advise his owner to get rid of it and replace it with something else that can earn imo thats a no brainer???

Remember Faro , was a very good sprinter and trained at Clairwood. 1200 mt specialist?

Sired by RAGTIME. The name Fariza comes to mind somewhere? Maybe the dam?

Maybe I'm confused b'cos so long ago but FUZZY RAG was by Ragtime out of Fariza.

Faro was a gr8 race mare by Do Battle another sire that was never given a fair chance... Faro was a half sister to Fuzzy Rag by Rag Time a sprint specialist
Faro was the grand dam of Chamonix a horse that should have won a July won the ;July consolation the year that Dunford won in a slower time

titch this is only true if the trainer have some thing to replace the donkey with, no? then it is a no brainer. but the empty stable is making no moneys and the many trainer will bull shit the owner with " this needs time", "he is growing into himself", " he is a little back ward/imature", "he is green/dumb but is a beutifull horse" blah blah blah. the owner is thinking ok i be patient this horse will run! then after paying for as long as he will, the horse run as a 3yo and finish 10 lengths and further behind.

i now. i get fooled plenty time my self :(

Flash the minuscule profit that a Trainer makes out of a horse that does not earn a stake cheque (if any) is surely not worth the aggravation that comes with having to explain to an irate owner after every dismal run and with each bad run the chances of the owner wanting to reinvest in another horse gets smaller,I cant get my head around any trainer wanting to alienate his owners with a "soup meat"

titch you are very stupid if you beleve what you write. miniscule ( i have to google to see what it mean :D ) profit is not so small if you feed the levings and give groom extra horse. go look at smaller trainer and the shit mr60 and below they keep. there is plenty example.
