The course manager Dean Dedericks was asked for his for his opinion on the possibility of racing going ahead on the day, his response was that he doubted if the meeting could be saved due to the weather conditions ..based on this both Anton and Bernard took the decision not to travel down and as it turned out the prediction was not far off the mark with only 2 races were run...this is EXACTLY what transpired and how the thumb suck presumption that it was anyone else that advised Anton not to travel is beyond me..

The point that seems to be over looked here is that the racing program is done 2 years in advance and not by of the racing directors of the WP.. My opinion on that matter is that this whole decision has been made due to the drop in quality of horses that Mr Adams now owns and their subsequent form...with the likes Past Master,(which, given the situation appears to be very aptly named) GMTGL etc no longer racing his colors are very seldom seen in any Features and have not been seen in the winners enclosure for ages (outside of MR handicaps) and for someone who by his own admission has 80+ horses in training this simply is not good enough...I am sure that he will find the grass is not much greener on the "other side" and when the red mist settles the blue and grey stripes will once again be domiciled in Capetown.

I think it just gets back to that without a horse with the ability to win big races NO trainer, jockey or owner can change much. The horse is King!

Mr. Adams should not confine his horses to one province [PROVINCE!!!] even if the colors are resemblance of Stormers but rather spread them across the country over several trainers IMHO.
I know he will be most welcome in KZN as others also have horses here and all over.
Sometimes a small trainer can make a big difference! Once such lady trainer of yester-year comes to mind Mrs. Ann Upton.
With one or two horses only from Hurvitz she won GR1 races with FURIOUS.
Also won Holidays Inns with NORTH ISLAND.

titch you say the racing program gets done 2 years in advance?i find this hard to believe as surely a horse sensus is done every couple of months to find out dist merit rating etc and then working out a race program to suit the population......adams raises plenty valid points and the industry needs people like him to stand up against the current shit that is happening instead of being like plenty on this site ,,,,COWARDS

Titch.....sometimes you need to read what you write. Having an open mind will not hurt you. Mr Adams wears his heart on his sleeve and I would rather trust what he says than those that say nothing. just my two cents worth

GB lets be fair...Marwing can train, when he has a good one he knows what to do with it...do you remember Grand Emporium and Divine Jet, there have been others as well.

Pirates, are you saying that if people dont think like you they are cowards and are wrong? Many people pick and choose what they want to believe to suit their ideas and stuff the rest of the info.

I watched Tellytrack the other day and they were talking to the UK tipster and Cecil said its a pity a couple of tracks are closing, and the reply was along the lines " that's the trouble when financial people get involved instead of racing people, these things are sadly going to happen"
I have no idea of the wheeling and dealing that is currently taking place but I have had the pleasure of being in the company of Mr Adams on a couple of occasions and he is a passionate man as far as racing and obviously has a good financial/ business brain and can only be good for racing IMO.
So I would say he is the complete package and the tonic racing badly needs.
