Reading this forum and others from sa, and listening to SA racing folk talk I ask the question

"is the sheik blind?"

HOW can he appoint Paul Hanaghan and not consider

marcus
delpech
neesees

or anybody else craig eudy and co think highly of.

Nothing wrong with Hanaghan - the Sheik knows this game more than all of us combined...

hanagan the managan will bring great success to the sheik in his first season as he is a very good jock who always tries his best to win.i guess the punters can follow him with confidence on all the well bred horses he will be riding for sheik hamdan.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum is Mike de kock chief owner of the horses in those yellow and blue silks while Sheik Hamdan al Maktoum who Paul Hanagan will ride for is those with the blue silks white epulattes and striped cap. De Kock also has Sheik Hamdan horses in his stable namely Zanzamar and a few others. So its 2 different owners.

yes different owners.sheik hamdan owns shadwell who are 1 of biggest breeding operations in world.he has supported mdk at our local sales by buying our bloodstock for the last few years after seeing the success mdk had in dubai for sheik mohd bin khalifa al makhtoum(yellow with blue chevron).sheik hamdan uses many different trainers in uk but his retained jock(r hills) always has preference and will ride his horses.r hills will now be replaced by paul hanagan at end of carnival as r hills has decided to retire after many yrs as sheik hamdans retained jockey.

That is an "easy"question to answer. He wanted to stick to the same calibre of jockey. Hill/Hanaghan. The top jockeys probably did not want to be tied down to one owner no matter who he is.
