The answer is "probably"
Anybody who let Hills ride his horses for that long IS blind or benevolent.

with that statement you played your final cards, surely to god you must be the blind one. To show a lack of respect for one of the worlds top owners and his beliefs as to regards racing shows the ignorance that prevails in SA racing.

keep firing in the maiden winners and handicaps every now and then.

maybe one day you will learn that possibly there are a few people people out there that might just know a bit more about racing.

the sheik fits into that bracket

marcus could not polish hanaghans boots.

Dual English champion makes Hanagan a good choice, although one possible concern could be that his Big Match Temperament is essentially untested. He has won his titles mostly by riding a slew of winners in minor races and now being called up to ride fancied bluebloods in Gr 1 races will be a test of his mettle.

However, he couldn't win two championships if he didn't have the necessary attributes and I'm sure he will do the job just fine. I'm also sure that with many good riders in the UK it won't be too hard for Fahey to find a new stable jock who can keep the winners flowing. No doubt there's more than a few riders begging their phone to ring.(:P)

Easy probably you blind one but I am not going to lower myself into a slanging match with someone like you who thinks he knows more than he actually does and has something against SA racing. I might have taken your post a little seriously until your last comment. Did you not read what Michael Roberts said and we quoted on ABC about the comparison between the 2 jockeys? I think he should know more than you and I put together. There was no lack of respect for Sheik H and I have met him and he is a very nice guy but by employing Richard you cannot tell me he employed the best jockey in the UK! Richard is also a very nice guy and loyal to Sheik H almost to a fault. He almost came before his own family but not a champion jockey.

Craig

this is not a slagging match, its just pointing out that what ever Michael roberts thinks, Sheik H has been round lomg enough to have eyes of his own.

His operation is VAST, and to think that he has never seen Marcus ride is laughable. YET he still chose PAUL.

Now you coming with stories about champion jockey blah blah, Richard Hill was not champion jockey but he damm sure rode some fine horses and won some excellent races. Races that Marcus might have dreamt of winning when he was a young lad at the SAJA.

Why woul a jockey like marcus not even put his cv into Coolmore or Sheik H? It lacks comercial sense. Dont either come tell me about he is settled at home. A riding career has its limitations and the finances stack up BIG time when riding for Sheik H for 10 or more years.

The retainer alone is worth more than his full commision for his winners riding in SA.
