Anyone mind if I broaden this topic to include "Names I'd like to see"? I was watching a bit of yesterday's racing, there was a Var horse running, and it popped into my head (a bit of empty space, OK, OK) that if I had a Var I'd call it Varoom Varoom.

Vroom vroom ... you know how kids go on their plastic bikes ... well, we've had a JJ the Jet Plane (just incidently one of my fave names) after the kids cartoon, why not a Vroom Vroom? But make it Varoom to take up the Var part.

Re Var: just for your interest (does anyone really understand these definitions, LOL!?):
(navigation) Visual-Aural-Range, a very-high-frequency radio range that provides one course for display to the pilot on a zero-center left-right indicator and another course, at right angles to the first, in the form of aural A-N radio range signals; the A-N aural signals provide a means for differentiating between the two directions of the visual course. Abbreviated VAR.
Var: a unit of electrical power in an AC circuit equal to the power dissipated when 1 volt produces a current of 1 ampere.

Actually Var is named after a mountainous and heavy forested region in South-eastern France called Haut Var.
Sire "Forest" Wildcat and Dam "Loma Preata (misspelled) and was supposed to be Prieta" which translated from Spanish means Dark(Prieta) Hill (Loma)....
