The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 17 May 2010, Trainer M P Antelme was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.10 in that as the trainer of the horse NOUVERRE he was aware that this horse was suffering from laminitis over a period of two to three months and failed to obtain adequate veterinary treatment to prevent the suffering of this horse.
Mr Antelme pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Mr Antelme guilty and imposed a disqualification for a period of five years.
Mr Antelme has the right of appeal against finding and the severity of the penalty imposed by the Board.

He is a moron if that is the case. Surely the horse must have been in pain over that period of time.

Laminitis is terribly painful and most of the time the animal is euthenased to relieve it of its pain. Low grade laminitis can be controlled with a low protein diet and other factors

The stipes shouldn't need to check for things like this, i hope the said trainer suffers the amount his horse has !

The said trainer has indeed made the public suffer on more than one occation with his 50+/1 shots winning without any reason whatsoever. My personal opinion ...so the wheel turns.

Also been thinking about this.
Is this same trainer that trained a Rothmans July winner or is it an offspring?
Also unless he is the owner of the horse where is the owner in this picture 3 months and you don't notice something.
Agree flames they should put his feet in boiling water every week for an hour for three months and let him walk around with army boots on with the blisters,
