You gotta be kidding. Should not be allowed to run in a grade 1

Why not? It's allowed everywhere else that I know of. Maidens have won Classics, for feck's sakes. This peculiar South African notion that horses have to win before they run against winners is an oddity which makes no real sense, in my view. Maiden races are certainly not always the "worst" races around.

Having said all that, I agree that Rajinsky has no chance, but if his connections want to cough up to run him in a race like that, so what?

Exactly ab .Terimon finished 2nd or third to Nashwan in the Epsom derby at 500/1 and some thought that price was stingy..

I remember years ago Willie Carson winning the Oaks by a mile on Sun Princess (?) when she was still a maiden. It took me half an hour to convince a mate of mine who watched the race with me that she had not won a race previously!

AB, the O'Brien horse is named Red Rock Canyon and he was beaten in a minor race after eventually winning his maiden.

Correct, greg. Her name is Corpes Da Elite. Charles Laird did the same thing the previous season with Warm White Night, although these were not Gr 1 races.

Authorized won the Gr 1 Racing Post Trophy as a maiden a few years ago and went on the next season to give Frankie his first Derby success by a wide margin. I seem to remember Vincent O'Brien winning the 1000 Guineas with a first-timer, many moons ago! Now there is something we may never see again....

Since that win Corpes has been disappointing.
