Congratulations Brandon. You're a champion and now a stallion in the making. A very well deserved opportunity for you, you've earned it by being the best at your job by a country mile.

Clyde is THE best commentator in Africa and Nico will be his 2nd lieutenant.
Back in the day there was Peter Duffield and Francois Wolfaardt doing the Highveld and the job got done, without any fanfare.
The show will go on that's a certainty.

So is Dubai out of the question for Ali....
4 racing at least pursued some sort of transformation in the commentary ranks and I hope that the young man Naqib succeeds.

Maybe Cape Racing can introduce some transformation blood in their presenting ranks soon.....

They are improving slowly.
Like hosting the Ten cent Pick 6 fruit punter and 99 others in the Pocket Power Room on Met Day.
He's always a critic of the guys presenting in KZN.
Sour grapes?

I;m coming in on the tail of all this.
So what happens to Grant,Vicki,MJ, etc.
Ali has always come across to me as a respomsibl;e presenter, alittle lacking in flair and varriation.
Brandon waslike a breath of fresh air but hehas a lot to learn pariicularly with UK/Irish Courses,Trainers,Jockeys etc.
Still nothjing ventured nothing gained.

As a youngster I enjoyed listening to Erik Denman's commentary ,was always exciting regardless of whether it was a maiden plate or the Durban July. Trevor Denman was also a great commentator.

Nico commentates well until he starts screaming like that commentator in Ireland.

For me the future of South African commentators are Alistair and Brandon. Brandon's commentary is a lot like Eric Denman's in the 80's.

All the best
