Bookmakers are well informed these days however they pay for the information via horse ownership and some trainers yards are sponsored by bookmakers and are obliged to answer all questions. It happens aswell through jockey sponsorship where plenty jockeys get sponsored by big punters with a business but all what they want is the info. You will notice how some jockeys change sponsors every now and again.. bad tipping.
However i cant blame the bookmakers for buying people.

Bookmakers have saved the industry and they need to reap the rewards.Forget the so called passion for the game and sick for the game. In the end its all about money and profit.

Yes they definitely have saved the industry but it sounds so wrong for bookmakers to sponsor jockeys and trainers.

I try durbs but gets hard sometimes when you love this game and horses like I do and people just run it down. We are all doing our best but they can't talk so there are times when although they look good on the outside, there can be a niggle that we can't pick up and they won't run true to form. Woodland retreat had a long break after a hard 2yr old season and over a distance that I believe is just short of her best( as per my comment in Winning form) and with 61.5kgs on her back as a 3yr old, it was always going to be hard for her. Not the ideal race for her but there was nothing else for a filly with a rating of 104.

Surely we can all agree that the opening call of "Even-Money" was way off the mark and completely unrealistic. Yes, Woodland Retreat drifted in the market but a more realistic opening call would have been around 4/1?

Thanks Craig,if only all trainers explain things honestly to us punters I'm sure we would have more confidence in the game.
