does that often - probably needs to be ridden cold and let loose the last 400m

This happens way too often all across the country. When the race is over the jockeys starts riding. If you look at how many times jockeys at Happy Valley starts pushing their horses from some ways out to get their momentum going and more often than not they either end up winning or finish in the top 3.....Karis Teetan is great at doing that.

In South Africa due to the false rail everyone plays the waiting game. In the UK, Australia and USA, false rails are a rarity and the jockeys have to move early. Still have seen plenty of horses win on the inside from far back.
