Turffontein, 20/03

Had a look at this card and fancy (R2) Marygold (4/1), (R6) Sparkling Water (9/2), and on Sunday at Durbanville, (R2), Silver Salmon (1/1).
R2) Kelpie (22/10) first run on the Highveld, more importantly, received a 8 point penalty for finishing 3rd in the Majorca, I don't believe she is running to a MR 115. Bingwa (22/10), is certainly not well weighted against Marygold, especially being a 3 year old. Tierra Del Fuego (7/2), whilst his MR has dropped considerably, still think it's high and don't see him being competitive off the current rating of 110. Marygold (4/1), you can put a line through her last run, and if running anywhere close to her rating, will put this field away, She does have he tendency to be slow away, but i am hoping it's not a problem in a 6 horse field. For what it's worth, she did open 6/1 on WSB.
R6) Sparkling Water (9/2), on exposed ratings, is better off with Seeham (18/10) by 4.0kgs. Sparkling Water ran way above her rating last time out to War Of Athena in the SA Fillies Classic, not sure Seeham is running to a MR 90, could be lesser of a rating.
Lastly, Durbanville Sunday, (R2), Silver Salmon (1/1). Ran second, 0.10 off Cosmic Highway, who came out and won the Good Hope Nursery (next start) on Met Day by 2.50 lengths. Hopefully with natural improvement, this will be a pointer.
That's my weekend treble, but an on the head punt on Marygold to hopefully cover the outlay.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Clocking my galop.
R#1: Franca and Noble Striker have the form to win this. I like Flinders Range on breeding.
R#2: Bingwa is in the right race today and will shtin. Field for second,
R#3: On exposed form Voltron and Hollywoodbound are the ones to beat. Somebody is offloading on Kwazzi's Lady.
R#4: Eyes On Tiger, Royal Wulff and Grappler in that order.
R#5: Irish Willow will be hard to beat. Manterio, Fast Draw, Techno Savvy, Grimaldi and Track Commander for places.
R#6: Heart Stwings to shtin at a nice price. Seehaam, Dynastic Light and Fort Anne for places.
R#7: Rio's Winter and Field for second.
R#8: Willow Express, Approach Control, Category Four, Wonderwall
R#9: Silver Master, Global Ash, August Rain, Sun Giant, Putins Promise and Mohican
joining the queue, with a bag.

Has Crawford brought up a string to the Highveld? He has Kelpie in R2. Or will she change trainers?
Superman has two rides: Kelpie and Jet Start in R6. Good on ya.

Good day all
Nice to see Brett Crawford up in Jhb always admire this trainer gives factual information I remember Angus fondly got me started in racing seeing him run
Some interesting first timers today
In the 1st Mitch got his wish related to Shivers which also runs on the card could run into the money
Paperless post related to August rain also runs later on the card
Splash of green related to gold season has run some good feature races
Fancy 2 grant maroon horses today Country mile and double o eight
And in the last last of the legend and mohican
Happy punting all

BINGWA will be running on strongly and win it!
Lots of money for the first timers but I think that with racing experience HOLLYWOODBOUND will outpace them. Win for me.
Royal Wulff let the side down too many times and looks average…. i am therefore siding with GRAPPLER each way and will be watching how APOLLO ELEVEN goes down and back it for a place if it suits me.
The fifth looks tough so I am taking my chances and banking Grimaldi in exotics…form good enough imo for a decent run against these.
SEEHAM another banker for me…should blow this filed away. My only concern is getting SHIVERS if it flops 😊
WINTER SMOKE will give it a good go, but dangers will be TROPIC SUN and RISK TAKER!
ZOUAVES/CATEGORY FOUR each way
ESKIMO PIE place GLOBAL ASH win
Enjoy and be safe!!!
