Refund on Showdown Kid at Hollywoodbets

Hi all

Please note that the winner of the first race at the Vaal this afternoon, SHOWDOWN KID (1) was disqualified because some of the weights were inadvertently dropped.

SHOWDOWN KID was the 11/10 favourite and carried the hopes of many punters and won the race with some ease.

At Hollywoodbets, we believe that regardless of the lost weight, this horse would most likely have won and therefore we have decided to treat the result like a Hollywoodbets Objection. We are therefore refunding all single win bets on Showdown Kid. The affected accounts are currently being credited.

Thank you and Hollywood bets for the refund on all SINGLE bets placed on showdown kid. Why is multiples not included. Like in my case I had 4400/800 for the treble. Why cant it be paid out as a double.... My account number is 187459 please check my profile. I'm a punter that deposits an average of 50k per month and has been delt with a low blow here. If you consider paying out for a single bet which I appreciate although it does not benifit me because I had a treble why not show it as a scratching let the balance of the bet stand. I await your response before I make my next deposit.

Thats excellent from hollywood. Pity that i had my bet with interbet so when i do have my next bet which wont be this month, i will just play with hollywood.

Unfortunately we don't have that facility available on our system with regards to multiples, but it is something we are looking into, and hopefully we can offer in the near future.

I actually think it’s pathetic and misleading advertising . What’s the difference between single bets and multiple bets ? All bets are exposed to the outcome . You want to look after customers - refund and null and void all bets that were straight up or started on the horse . That is what you call looking after customers . The headline of this thread and the sporting post is utterly misleading and false . And yes I did do my money on all to comes at Hollywood with the horse in question

This is a bitter pill to swallow.
I know of 2 other members and myself (that's 3). we all had
Showdown kid/ Phinda Mzala as our major double
The yankee with Tahitian Orana and Curvation covered the stakes on the lost double.

Wow guys. What refund did anyone get from Interbet, singles or multiples? Calling HWB pathetic is a bit OTT, I believe it is better than nothing.

Who mentioned any other betting company ? We talking about Hollywood and them making waves about refunding on Showdown kid ... it’s false ! Flat out . They refunded certain accounts and all the headlines are misleading

I had nothing on it but I agree with Flaunt.
If you give back the stake on a horse it should follow through in all bets not only singles.I’m sure they could have done it manually if they really wanted even though the system wouldn’t allow it.
They didn’t have to do this I know but I’m sure they would have lost a bit too much for their liking if they followed it through to doubles and trebles.

He stated in bold print refunds on all single win bets. My point in mentioning another betting company was to show that what HW did was not the norm, they didn't have to do it. If you ever read my posts you'd know I'm on the punter side, but here it is punters being upset over a gift.

And I’m sure they got their money back plus more with all the punters doubles and trebles going into bin with that horse being disqualified.
They make a killing don’t worry about it especially with our racing results.
