If you give back the stake on a horse it should follow through in all bets not only singles.I’m sure they could have done it manually if they really wanted even though the system wouldn’t allow it.
They didn’t have to do this I know but I’m sure they would have lost a bit too much for their liking if they followed it through to doubles and trebles.
Let’s state the obvious , it’s a great advertising campaign to say you refunded , It’s a nett gain , you will short term , gain punters and the refunds will be turnover into more bets ... point being , don’t favor certain clients over others , don’t prejudice some . If you want to make a statement , pay the eventual winner and null and void all bets whether outright or all to comes that started there . You want to do punters a favor , do it properly . Not half baked
And if you want to do it half baked , the headlines should read - Hollywood refunds all single bets . Not what’s purported

Now the question is what if it was the jockeys fault?
Punters lose in cold blood and the bookmakers gain,is that fair?

Who mentioned any other betting company ? We talking about Hollywood and them making waves about refunding on Showdown kid ... it’s false ! Flat out . They refunded certain accounts and all the headlines are misleading
He stated in bold print refunds on all single win bets. My point in mentioning another betting company was to show that what HW did was not the norm, they didn't have to do it. If you ever read my posts you'd know I'm on the punter side, but here it is punters being upset over a gift.
He stated in the fine print at the bottom . Forgive me- what does the headline say , not only on this forum but Sporting Post ?

Look guys the way I see it, we are all punters and it was a gesture from HW with no obligations to give anything back.
We know the rules and this is an ugly one but a difficult rule to change.
Last time we had this I am sure we had a riot at Gosforth Park
Flaming Gun ?

What type of gesture ? A gesture to only certain clients ? Glass half full ?

LOL
WOW – can’t believe all these complaints
At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if some of those that got refunded their straight bet stakes start complaining that they should’ve been paid out the winnings as well

Certain clients took certain bets ! All clients who were exposed to showdown down kid , were prejudiced , some got refunded others did the bundle .
You want to cover yourself in glory as a bookmaker ? Null and void all and make a noise
Interesting why sporting post has locked comments on the subject ?

Thank you and Hollywood bets for the refund on all SINGLE bets placed on showdown kid. Why is multiples not included. Like in my case I had 4400/800 for the treble. Why cant it be paid out as a double.... My account number is 187459 please check my profile. I'm a punter that deposits an average of 50k per month and has been delt with a low blow here. If you consider paying out for a single bet which I appreciate although it does not benifit me because I had a treble why not show it as a scratching let the balance of the bet stand. I await your response before I make my next deposit.
Regards
They 'refunded'' the stake on single bets, similar to the objection rule, which is a fine gesture but cannot then go make it a scratching & pay out multiples on top of those who had a win on the 2nd horse! Well Done HWB!!!
