30K ZAR bet on this race on local exotics alone. BUT HEY. ThEre Is NoT EnOuGh InTeReSt iN AuSsiE lOcAl ExOtIcS.

One sad thing at Tab is there is utter hate of trots. There is coverage of the code coz there is no option. They try France but the figures speak for themselves. Very very sad to the extent that Snaith said they shldnt show us the trots. Yes SA racing got the priority but and this hurts the minority. Telly 4 spent most of time flashing results & useless banners incessantly and doesnt show the build up to the start of the races. Its really sickening that we complain of the same thing for over a year but nothing is done. Surely flashing us a results banner than show us build up to the races. Very incompetent production team. If thats the way South African racing was covered noone would be happy but just that its 'the trots'..you dont care. We live on those trots. These days i care less cz i now got Sky 1 & Sky harness links. Tellytrack is a problem if you are harness follower.

Hear what your saying, and we all have our favourite centres and genres.

But they have to cater for the majority, and are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Not sure what majority they are catering for by not offering a betting option on something that is asked for so often, at a time slot when there are no other options available. Offering local exotics on two harness meetings a day, or maybe one harness and one flat from aus a day is really not taking away anything from anyone in the morning slot. Here's a fact for you, btw, more money is wagered on local exotics for Aus harness racing than USA racing and Ireland racing. Fact. Harness racing pools, when PROPER BUILD UP is given, is equivalent to a UK race pool with proper build up. This is not some idiot's opinion, this is a FACT.

No Bob, what we see here is not what you have said. What we see here is there being no accountability for betting turnover, and people just being happy doing the bare minimum. With changing owners of the tote, you almost can't blame them, but I'm surprised MOD hasn't hired someone competent to oversee what opportunities are being missed on the tote.

I think this is going to be my last post on this thread.

I must agree that Oz Harness Racing is a fantastic addition to our daily ration of racing.
The time slot doesn't interfere with local racing and of course it doesn't cost the Tote anything in stake money.
The local racing has become so stuffed up with a lack of good form for punters to follow .
Today's fare of mediocre MR handicaps and tough results bear testimony.
If punters are asking for more exotics to bet on Harness Racing ,shouldn't the Tote be listening to their customers?

Credit where it is due, sometimes the ramblings get heard. I see now, that local exotics are offered on two harness venues today and started very early. I didn't even realize else I would have played. I will start now, and am making it a point to only use my Tote account to play in solidarity with this idea being a success.

They really need to start advertising that this is back, and then people will know to start tuning in. What i dont want now is to play this, and then tomorrow come see it is back to lockdown levels of betting options.

Well done to the tote, good initiative shown here finally.

I also really like Australian harness racing.
It's a little bit riskier as horses gallop often but you got to follow the good drivers.
There's some horrid drivers around and a few cheats on wheels but the decent drivers can usually keep the horse in a trot.
It's well published that there are a few that purposely mess up races but even taking that into account a think it's still a better betting proposition than our local racing where pretty much everything is average or below.

Like that last race at Bathurst.
1-3 favorite galloped but if you read the form it galloped last start also so no good thing at that price.
It hadn't even won a race yet where as the eventual winner,7-2,already won 3 times so value can also be found if you got the right form book to read.

Lol I had to laugh at the inopportune time for the odds on horse to gallop, today of all days, but as you say, there is some reason to it. More often than not the shorties arrive. I am enjoying the racing today, although not profitable for me yet today.

TWO Aus harness venues to have local exotics on today - Well done and please keep it up, not one day two venues, one day zero, and another day one.

Thank you TAB.

Again, two Aus venues today, please keep this constant. Posted the same thing last week and what happened, they reverted back to the late starts with one meeting covered only. Consistency.

Now the tote caught in crossfire. See their decision to limit Ozz races with full exotics. And rumour saying Tabcorp tote servers might be down for longer than anticipated. Lets see if Tab share trades tmrw. At least & 'hope' Hollywood settle jackpot div with Supertab as usual in these times of mess.
