Hearing a pretty disturbing story that, Yvette and her partner have had enough...
Background
A groom stabbed a horse with Scissors and was sacked, and the rest of the grooms walked out in Support(idiots)
So they have been striking and that`s the reason why only four runners today.
Hopefully Yvette and Headley change their mind and don`t hand their license in as they will be a huge loss to racing in SA

That's shocking and will be a huge lost to the industry and to PE racing.

Bob it would be hard to comprehend what is acceptable in sunny SA and all the best to the challenges that face decent people in this country.

I hope the idiot has been arrested for animal cruelty... Nobody seems to say anything about the innocent horse who got stabbed - its all about what the humans will lose, not the suffering that this poor animal had to endure.

Wonder what prompted the groom to attack the animal? And for the other grooms to follow. Would be interesting to get the other sides of the story.
In the meantime the bonus given by Hollywood bets to winning grooms is a big big plus , maybe other regions should be included?

Bob from the reports I've read it's a cash bonus .Also read Gold Circle advising it's done by Eft into a bank account.

What action would justify this reaction Mike? This act is barbaric. Full stop. I hope he faces the consequences of his actions.

......shades of Pas de Quoi who was also savagely slashed by a disgruntled groom that ended his racing career.....laying charges for animal abuse is not the way to go.....make a civil case for damage to private property.....attach the invoice value plus stable keep....drive the offender out of the industry .....make an example of him so that others can see what fate will befall those that have this sort of malicious intent....

Actually Pas De Quoi got viciously attacked after he won the Cape Derby. He did make a comeback off and on but it was his 7yo season that was sublime. He won the J&B met, the Schweppes Challenge and rounded it off with a win in the Champion Stakes as an early 8yo. It was his defeat in the July though that was disastrous as Surfing Home impeded him numerous times and Surfing Home was duly disqualified as the winner.
