Gbets - really ???

Usually I'm not one to engage in discussions about betting firms - but I thought I'd just highlight the incompetence of this lot.

I can't even remember how I managed to have an account with them (I think I might have won some competition in which part of the prize was an account with Gbets) - anyway I managed to somehow keep my account balance positive and yesterday was interested to see that they still offer a 'rolling double' - I took a double perm (on their website) on the 7th and 8th at Turffontein - and 'won'.

However, by this morning, this bet still showed as 'unsettled' - when I asked them, I was informed (after a while) that the bet had 'no dividend' and that my stake has been refunded.

The agent could not explain why the bet was offered in the first place - problem with the 'system' :silly: :lol: :ohmy: :evil:

So they can’t settle the double at fixed odds ?

Nope, they are not willing to do that - just returned my stake .... after I alerted them to the fact that the bet still showed as 'unsettled'

so, winners complain and get stake back

--losers don't complain and gbets pockets the money?

......so when TAB/tote f@ck @p and do not declare a dividend the bookie offering the open bet refund, makes sense but why was no dividend available fro the geniuses at the tote....:huh:

....how are Gbets going to offer a payout if on fixed doubles if they are taken as perms.....does G bets have a software program to do the multiple permutation calculation for this bet.....:dry:

Only one bookmaker that I know of in South Africa offers fixed multiple permutations from sport to horse racing and can be taken for a percentage as well.

If there is a bookie offering roll on fixed odds double perms, I will bet with them.......... According to the guy on TT it is a boring bet to take.

TAB does not currently offer the bet - only the 'Daily Double' on 2 specific consecutive races (on a 9 race program I think the 6th and 7th - and on an 8 race program I think the 5th and 6th) - therefore they won't be declaring dividends on any other 'rolling double' ; so imo they are not to blame (apart from the opinion held by many that they are actually shooting themselves in the food as far as turnover by having discontinued the 'rolling double' bet)

However for some reason it seems as if Gbets never caught on to this - and still offer these 'rolling doubles' on ALL races - sorry for you if you take a losing bet - but if it is a winning bet AND YOU QUESTION them as to why the bet remains in an 'Unsettled' status, they return your stake :ohmy: , most likely reason being that their 'system' can't handle the multiple permutation calculation

Imo Gbets should remove the 'Rolling Double' option from their Betting Menu (apart from the races where the 'Daily Double' is offered by TAB) - because as it currently stands, for a punter to take the bet can at best only result in your stake being returned - the same scenario (with a lot more risk) as the R1.00 Place Dividend

.....oh now I get it.....they just leave these bets on their portal because either they do not know the tote/TAB scrapped the race to race double.....or they are too slap gat to remove it....or it is there for unsuspecting people (sorry Frodo) :blush: : to fall into....I wonder how an organisation like this got to sponsor the Summer Cup.....:huh:

The bet is unavailable so winning or losing bets should all read unsettled.
I'm not an account holder so can't take a bet with them,but maybe someone can try taking two big outsiders in each race (just for a buck maybe) and hopefully lose and see if they actually take your money or if the bet comes up as unsettled.
