Thoughts one this great day for racing ....
R1: Augustina appeals, but only 1/2 length in front of Inertia (improved in blinkers ?) last time; What a Red get the sex allowance, but the rider
Trap Queen consistent and has what seems a favorable draw down the inside
R2: Anyone's guess; money for the Bass-Robinson first timer, but the stable did not seem that confident - still inside draw and gets weight from the winners, so should be competitive; the Tarry filly has also found some support, but the trainer did seem iffy about whether she will get the 1000 on debut
R3: River Thames all the rage, but very short imo; Master of Spain the value for me
R4: If Twist of Fate stays he should be the one to beat; Herodotus well in and reportedly will prefer the trip (also a Derby entry); Bunker Hunt obvious chance going for 4 in a row; some others like Hudoo Magic, Belgarion, Senatla and Knight's Templar look to have potential, but unproven against the likes of ToF
R5: Doublemint a worthy favorite imo, may need just one more run to be at peak
for me Eyes Wide Open tough task these weights; Platinum Prince definite chance (no blinkers today
); roughie her is The Slade ..... weighted to win this if returning to his best - blinkers a worry imo
R6: For me Oh Susanna is never a 121 - probably closer to 112 (taking a line through Lady in Black); this brings Cascapedia right into this; of course OS can't be ignored, for me she is just too short in the betting
R7: Anyone's guess - will there be a pace, and how fast will they go - who has made the most improvement since the Green Point - all factors that will affect the result - for me I'm just going to be enjoying this fantastic contest
R8: Again the pace will be factor - for me the value is Woodland's Forest - but the 3200 could be a stretch too far; Walter Smoothie the only one imo guaranteed to stay every inch
R9: Tough handicap; Ladder Man bolted the course last time, but still won easily and could turn the tables on Vikram (blinkers ?) this time; Sherwood Forest with the claim comes right into it imo and Brandenburg will make them catch him from the front
R10: Even tougher than the 9th; Bwana very consistent and sure to give his best again; not much between him and Metorite (should it be Meteorite ?) and both drawn down the inside; many others not out of it though
Enjoy
