Randjes gates blockaded, in lockdown. Some trapped in, cannot leave and others cannot get in. Vaal grooms have had their meeting this afternoon and were dancing and vuvuzelas blaring. Quiet now at Vaal but grooms are not working tomorrow and they will not allow racing tomorrow.

Can see a minimum of five trainers closing down after this fiasco. Can't afford it financially. It's a pity.

Apart from racing being in jeopardy with closures i hear N3 also blocked again, R59 also closed.

And there were protests and truck looting on N2 between Hluhluwe and Richards Bay yesterday...apparently a (lack of) service delivery protest but, as a truck driver lamented, they are the one's that always seem to be attacked and their trucks looted and burnt...
