Because th market is to big there is enough for everybody to back a horse in a competitive race.

1 more thing i owned a horse called Bold Classic trained by Dom Zaki i think it won 3 in a row or so with Piere Strydom up on each occasion in the ring Strydom told me he thinks it cant win ,i put my maxiumum bet on based on my opinion ,so f i said Strydom says cant win but i put my money on am i not entitled to make my own decision.


Ask yourself 1 question did Derek Brugman have a maxiumum bet on his horse or just a bet not to let his horse run loose.

I do not often bat for the establishment, but this time I do. If the above quote could be applied, then we would be racing for Maiden Plate Stakes of close to R 150,000-00. It is often said that the average Win stakes on a race is aprox R 100,000-00, whilst many bookmakers each hold this amount, and more per race.

I knew a very big punter that passed away recently. I bumped into one of his bookies the other day. I asked him if he lodged a claim against the estate, to which he replied that he did not, as he always kept all this punters bets off the books.These were always very large bests on which not a single cent found their way back to the stakes pools.

In years to come bookies in SA will self destruct because of this. I am totally against a Phumelela monopoly, but am 100% sure that it will lead to the end of bookies the way that we know them. At least they would have deserved it.

sure many times a trainer or owner fancy their horse and makes it public and the horse loses but the point here is that the owner and trainer are from the same stable... why was there different info from both parties????? and why did brugman have to wait till the death to call and tell us info after the trainer earlier said the horse wont win????? wake up gents and check whats happening here... lets get back to the point...

the question i ask is did brugman have a bet...we are taking his word for it are we not...
