There is talk about Scotland wanting to remain in the EU (which I find amazing because Edinburgh was the favourite city to leave the EU) and so too now Northern Ireland. Well fancy that, a united Ireland and England joining the USA. You've heard it first on ABC.
I will personally take you're action on that bet.

Just to annoy OTA and give ML a brief update
If this was the predicted apocalypse, it was a Quick one,it was over by teatime. President Obama decided that we wouldn’t be in the ‘back of the queue” after all and that our “special relationship” was still strong. The President of the European Commission stated Brexit negotiations would be “orderly” and stressed the UK would continue to be a “close partner” of the EU. Several countries outside the UK stated that they would begin bi-lateral trade talks with the UK immediately. The £ plummeted, then rallied past February levels. The FTSE closed on a weekly high!

Other than the statement on the pound, the rest is correct. Pound hasn't rallied and is still at record lows. FTSE has only rallied because the centrals banks around the world have pumped money into the economies and there's a likely cut in interest rates around the corner. These are only short term solutions and central banks can't do this forever(which they've been doing for the last few years) or the whole system will fail. There's still a great deal of uncertainty and the important EU countries still refusing talks. I still believe the state of Britain is still in the early stages of the apocalypse but lets revive this thread in 6 months and see who was right

You should become a spin doctor or a doom and gloom merchant. Yes Britain is in for a rough ride but to use the word apocalypse belongs to the Daily Mail. You are correct when you say that it's short term solutions re the central banks but it's been put in place to give the economy a kick start. Yes the public are once again holding onto their money, my missus has not bought a thing from Amazon for a week, which is mind blowing.

Yet again the ugly head of politics comes out. The two leaders of the Vote Leave side have now split up. All it tells us that they were both in it for their own purpose and that was to become PM of Britain. The one has not even entered the race and the other one has no chance. So they have put this nation at risk for their self interest. Many times on this forum have i stated that i dont trust any politician. Once again they have proven me correct.

Boris's ideal world: He loses the Brexit vote 51/49, gets hailed as a hero for his outstanding efforts in nearly achieving something that was considered impossible, runs for PM in the next election, wins by a landslide and inherits a stable country.
Boris doesn't want to touch the mess he's created now and he quite rightly has quit while he's ahead

now the most hated PM Britain has ever had the misfortune of having is trying to put himself forward to lead the negotiations. With the Chilcot enquiry coming out on the 6th he must know that he will be in the clear.
