GINGER SIOUX at 5-10 a FOUR place is a Super Strike - Has a draw, good rider and CHIEF SIOUX is a sprinter so perhaps the shorter trip will help though Rodeo Souix stays all day which does make me wonder!! I fancy her because of the many scratchings and low rated remainders but she is NOT A HORSE TO FOLLOW EVER!!

Some interesting contests today imo - thoughts:
R2: Must be some time since we had 5 runners at around 4/1 in a 7 horse field  And the weird thing is I think the betting is just about right - IF the blinkers can help Silent Force reproduce the form that saw her running to 97 in Apr last year, she will doddle this - but her recent form since has been so poor and nowhere close to the 89 of which she is racing today - so that's a BIG 'IF' imo. For me I think the right one may be Moonlit Venice - basically a winner without a penalty and receiving 9.5 kg's from my 2nd choice Tomorrow's Miss
R3: Magic Trip looks the right one, but too short imo for a horse that tries the sand for the first time - by Trippi though, so should love the sand. If he fails, it should leave the way open for either Sea Knight or Jimmijagga (not much between these); can't see anything else
R4: Awesome Adam all the rage, but again much too short imo for a horse trying the sand for the first time - much prefer the chances (at the odds) of his stable mate Suzie's Arrow who ran a good second to Orchestrated (won again after that) at this track; also JP rides for the van Vuuren's, so I'm not reading too much into the jockey bookings.
R5: Solar Triptych does stand out, but it is a competitive looking handicap - Brad's Surge loves the trip and should come out 2nd best, while the filly Go Dutch also has done well this trip and rates a place chance as well imo - but I think it should be a choice between ST or the field in the P6
R6: Not the greatest field - the Alexander mares take on the boys and while both have chances, I think they may struggle to give weight away to Limbo - has taken on a new lease of life since trying the sand and Khumalo now takes the ride so should prove the right one - Disco Boy ops up every now and then so should be included in the P6
R7: The race of the day - Tiger Territory almost pulled it off on Saturday and now returns to the trip over which he has won 4 and placed 3 times from 8 tries - if the race has not come too soon he should prove hard to beat; hard to say which of the Spies runners is the 'right' one - Velvet Verona very capable - returning from a long rest , but has found betting support, so is my preference, but Anger is also not bad on his day and can't be totally discounted. Isphan is also interesting as David takes the ride again after winning twice on him in August and the Mootahadee must rate some sort of chance as well off a low weight
R8: Weak fillies and mares and handicap where an upset can't be ruled out - still Twilight Tiger is effective over this trip so should not miss the first 3 - Belle Starr tries the sand so anything possible - nothing else catches my eye
R9: I don't think I have ever seen a field where so many runners suffers from 'respiratory noises' - so any of them on a good day could win or run downfield; Battle of Alma (draw?) has run some fair races in maiden company over this 1000, so is going into my PA - my idea of a roughie is Noble Virtue, fair turf runs and being by Kahal, should love the sand
Enjoy

My play for today
R1 no 10 place - only because of trainer/jock combination
Race 2 no 4 - I backed it last time
Race 3 no 4 - although long break can be handicap
Race 4 no 12 - just like combination
All above in Place ATC

OK, awake again!
R1, 3 ,4 I have the favs to win but would not back them
R1 Style Flash x Buddy's Falcon
R2 MOONLIT VENICE x Mystic Tigress
R3 Magic Trip x Jimmijagga (GORNERGRAT, Valance Samaritan and First Sign have each been nibbled)
R4 Awesome Adam x Suzie's Arrow (BIG SHOT, Semaphor and Longstride have each been nibbled)
R5 Solar Tryptych x Brad's Surge x Facebook
R6 Limbo x Jumpstart x Disco Boy
R7 TIGER TERRITORY x Anger
R8 Electric Elektra x Twilight Tiger (Latino Ice may add value to whatever)
R9 BOLD APPROACH x Rodeo Dandy x Penitent Pirate (Fly Me High nibbled, Noble Virtue to be watched)
(Gornergrat and Big Shot are in caps as they are my preferred nibble in their respective races but it is not meant to indicate I have a strong fancy for them! The other three in caps form my patent for the day)
Thanks for the (always) excellent contribution Frodo
Be(s)t of luck to all
